I watched Get Quaked 3... very nice movie and it works totally smooth...
Then I decided I will use this codec for my next ET movie... First I made a test clip and I did as it is written in tutorial (I used uncompresed video [rendered in Sony Vegas 6] and audio MY SETTINGS: bitrate: 2100, music 196, video resolution: 720x480, 29.970 fps....)
BUT the that damn .mp4 clip just doesn't work smooth!!!! The picture is "braking" all the time :S
Does anyone have a clue what did I mess up?
 My movies:
[¤]>>The Last Frag (Enemy territory fragmovie)<< [¤]>>Outrageous 2 (Enemy territory trickjump movie)<< [¤]>>Learn To Trickjump (Enemy territory trickjump movie)<< [¤]>>XX Clan Fragmovie (Enemy territory fragmovie)<< Curently working on:
/ Future projects:
You never know... |

But i would prefer if you linked to the existing one instead. Not because i don't want it copied or anything, but should i make any changes/updates/corrections/etc. then there won't be some other outdated version of it floating around out there. Also, I think it would be better to link to this thread as well. There are a few common questions that are answered here, so it may help clear up any confusion. |
Thx I'll just link it to the existing one with your name on it =D

Never seen any purple blood although my VLC is 'bout 2 months out of date but I'll try it with the new version. Don't expect any problems though. Maybe you were just watching something strange...

The only thing I can think of is that you colour control [mainly hue + saturation] is buggered. Just try reseting them to program defaults.

It looks perfect on mine. Maybe take a look @ your GFX Cards video player settings cause I know I can configure it seperately there.

There was some artifacts like that in a few of the old builds of x264, update to the latest and see if it still occurs.

an easier way to view x264: http://packs.matroska.org/ direct link: http://packs.matroska.org/latest/Matroska_Pack_Full.exe Installs the appropriate splitter and decoder (ffdshow) in one click. You can uncheck all the other crap but the great thing about this is that even the biggest of noobs can easily watch x264 videos with just one click |

Good find Jmmsbnd007. Usually I stay the hell away from codec packs and such; But, I have installed the matroska pack in the past and it is certainly one of the better organized and put together ones.

I know I am an idiot and I'm not going to deny it but I can really figure out how to mix the audio and video with the makemp4.bat file. I have my uncompressed video.wav and uncompressed video.avi in the folder with basically everything else said in the tutorial. If I change the setting on the MeGUI from RAW to Mp4, the video file comes out perfect. Once I have the video.x264 in the folder and I run the .bat file, it doesnt produce the final mp4. I downloaded the updated .bat file and entered the directory that my .wav and .x264 file are in and all that but it cant find any of my files. Can anyone give me a specific example of for instance if I have d:\x264\video.x264, d:\x264\video.avi, and d:\x264\video.wav what I need to do in the .bat file to make it work? Thank you very much.
edit: nvm i think i figured it out

Maybe I should have renamed that bat file as I guess it's kinda misleading. The makemp4.bat file doesn't just do the finaly step of muxing the audio & video into mp4; It actually does everything from encoding the video, then audio, and then muxing the two together. Instead of using the .bat at all, Just follow the guide and use mp4box to mux together your audio and video manually (or use YAMB if you want the GUI) and it should turn out fine. But, make sure you convert your .wav audio into something the mp4 container can use. ie. the .m4a aac audio as outlined in the guide.

Sorry to bring up an old thread :/
Anyway, I've been having problems right off the bat. When I tried to actually follow the guide and do the command line it said something about FAAC not being a valid program or batch. So I decided to cop out and do the makemp4.bat. But I get "The system cannot find the path specified" for the audio and all the passes.
Here is what I have done. Re-installed all the decoders and encoders, and used the same versions as http://wiki.meaz.org/index.php?title=X264_Encoding. I made a new folder on my drive "C:\slam" and put my uncompressed audio and video (both same filename "slam") there. Then, per directions, extracted the x264, faac, and mp4box .exe's there. I have double and triple checked that I edited my makemp4.bat file correctly. My resolution is 768x576 at 30 frames per second. Here is a screenshot. http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/3525/wtf3zv.jpg |
