I have finally started to review all the demos I have of Voy2, the ultimate trickjump map of Star Trek: Elite Force.
Because this game is nearing its online death (as EF2 is released) I'm planning to make a movie about this fun game and this map in particular.
After making 2 movies I hope I may be able to make this a good one.
First I'll be reviewing the demos I have...(demo files: 950; file size: 1228,25 MB).
Now my question:
I made 1 movie for Q3 and used the most excellent dll of Camping Gaz (also known as the 'movie dll' on this site).
Now I wonder if it is possible to adapt this dll and how, to implement this into another game (in this case: EF1).
I tried just copying it to the EF1 folder (same location as in Q3)and adding the cvars to the .cfg file, but this doesn't work...
If I can't use this dll I'll be restricted to first persons POV's and simple 3rd person views (I know how to make simple matrix rotations and stuff).
So if anyone can help me how to adjust a dll so I can view a demo in free spectator mode, please help me!
Thnx

| Hmm...
It doesn't matter that it's the same engine, because the demo record code and player positioning can be different (and probably is). Remember, you can't use Gaz's DLL in OSP - but OSP is a mod, so it can't modify the engine in any way, but it modifies the way Quake calculates positioning of players in the map - they invented their own code for that to prevent some bots, so you can't see other players in a OSP recorded demo if you're watching it from Q3 because Q3 can't read the code.
Anyway, to make it short - you can't. I never played EF so i donj't know this, but try looking for this cvars: cg_cameraorbit, cg_thirdperson, cg_thirdpersonangle, cg_thirdpersonrange,... they might be called different in EF.

Thanks for the reply.
I knew the cg_thirdperson, _thirdpersonangle and _thirdpersonrange already. The command cg_cameraorbit isn't known but the cg_cameraorbitdelay command does exist. I've been playing around with that but I don't know what it does.
I'll just have to try with the commands available to make this a nice movie ;)
