Posting on the behalf of a friend, who cannot take footage from demos using the cl_avidemo command therefore has to record using fraps. This is an issue as were both trying to get the best quality possible for an upcoming frag movie. The command works fine but the images turn out like:
Any ideas? Tried re-installing the game aswell as the graphics card drivers but still nothing..

Hi mate, that's his PC specs (He's from Germany btw) and I'm from uk - just mates over the game to be honest. He's got a version of the game on disc and he's also downloaded it from another website (so two different versions to the game) and still encounters the problem. Any other ideas?

i remember having this very issue.. i would first try making a backup of your config and starting with a fresh config to start with... ugh it has been too long to think of what was really needed to fix this though.

why?? please avoid fraps if you want quality... everyone CAN do it! Also you can have 4x the quality (or more) than with fraps..
if you still want fraps, my guess goes to fraps enconding.. check fraps config, check if it is not enconding directly.. many things that can be causing it.. try with another version of fraps

he means he`s getting this problam with cl_avidemo and has to use fraps instead.

Hi,
First of all, as a new member, I would like to send my best regards to everybodyon this forum:)
Please help me out if you can, or point me to the thread where I can find some solution to my problem.
I would like to wrtie out a targa sequence from quake3, but there is a numbering limit at 9999, and I cant write out more files. Is ther e any workaround?
