Interresting pool. I'd say yes, especially for big files (from 200 Mo to xxx Mo). Just my opinion but i've seen tons of huge files without a single screenshot to give a preview... i got a rule for that which is : Huge file + no ss = no download. Plus, some people have (unfortunatly) a limited d/l time by month. Think about them.

Yea, I definitly think that screenshots should be a must.. and that the profile should be filled out pretty well also. I don't see how people can sit down, spend all this time working on a video and then when it comes to describing their video, many don't or put 3 word descriptions.

Should be mandatory. Not only that, should need more than 1 screenshot. A single screenshot of say the logo doesnt really say anything. I think 3 or 4 gives you a nice idea of what to expect. Maybe a bit harsh in some peoples view, but damnit this place needs some discipline! (gets out the old cane).

Downloadlimits sucks and I cannot believe people pay for such providers since nowadays it is real easy to have great speed with no limits and not much money.
I voted yes for screenshots cause I don't like to look at an empty questionmark-field. And also should the screenshots be uploaded instead of being linked to make sure the screenshot won't be deleted whenever the image at a certain server is removed.

It depends on the country you live in and the Internet Access Providers here.
French people can't whine on that side, because we have fast internet connections for cheap, but I know that Tania (Portugal) has a limited traffic and she doesn't really have the choice, and I think in Belgium it is the same problem (and think about the poor people who can't get more than 56k <-- ok they won't download movies by themselves in that case :p).
Anyway imo screenshots should be a requirement, at least 1. As Sean mentioned when you spend time on editing a movie, you can spend 5 minutes to fulfill the description field (a minimum length should be a requirement too on that one imo) and take a few screenshots (it is very easy with media player classic for the people who don't know).
Alcohol is the answer, but I can't remember the question!

It would be better when some screenshots are listed. Then it is easier to make a opinion how the video is.

they should be required just as everything on the vid profile. no not to, i mean people just dont download movies cuz it has a title. give info and pics :D

i have stopped download video without screenshots even if the movies like 2mins or something you need screenshots. :)!

Ehem, I dont know why realy asking Qs like thiz one... Still I dont like DLing anthing, not even small files, without a screenshot... Bute yet its realy possible for a vid to be complete waste of time and SS to look like pro movie... Darn... I think there should be like, what music is used in wid, that way you could know a bit more than just a pic ;)

I think putting the music used in the video on the profile is a bad idea.. When I watch a video for the first time I don't want to expect anything with the exception of a couple of screenshots.

| Pretty much agree w/ everyones comments. SC should be a must. Maybe its just me but if the artist, submitter spend the time to upload pics (decent ones) and leaves a good desp, im more likely to dl the vid. I also dont think that the submitter, artist should be allowed to rate there own movies. Dont like the music idea part....many movies i dl'ed have had music I hate, but its not a music video its frags, pc gaming movies and ive liked them for that, idk.....good poll! |

What you mean is that the poster CAN vote their own vids and add to own favorites but if discovered it will be 'undone'.

well if you want to be to get anal about the details:
a user can post stuff.. but there are jobs that happen every hour to to remove it automatically.. so they may add it to their favorites but it will just get removed within an hour.. same with votes.
