Can't remember all movies so good but when I saw them I thought it'd be between the UT and WoW movie. I enjoyed them very much even if I haven't played those two games, ever.
Sad that there wasn't more movies for this competition. I guess a small prize to the winner(s) is needed to make a competition a little bigger. =/

I kinda like them all, but they are all so short, you don't get much time to impress or for the vid to drag on. That is what kills longer vids the "boring middle" and all these vids are pretty much "exciting intros".
Nice to have another contest though.
UT3 > UT2k4 > WoW > CSS. (goes in that order for the vids and for the actual games, lol)
nice job to all editors.

| I think this is not working. All movies should be from same game. All players just vote for that game they play, because they don't see anything special on other movies. For example. I play cs and i think wow movie just sucked (nothing personal), because i just dont understand whole game. |

Well this should be about editing, thus you don't need to understand certain game.
For example I play UT, but I really liked that WoW movie. And yes, I do not understand what's goin on there, but its intro is very nice and soundtrack just rawks.

Personnally I have never played any of these games (ok, I tried CS a long time ago, but I was young and naive :D).
We will try to be as fair as possible, and as wIz4 mentioned, it is an editing contest, and we will rate movies on anything but content.

Abracadabra from wiza for me, his editing on the music was just superb and I know how freaking hard it is to make an ut3 movie due to there not being a good mod for it. In general his editing just rocked but I can't edit myself so ;p. I agree though with that wow intro being superb, liked that intro a lot just the rest I didn't find anything special or I would have remembered it. Rest of vids had some good points on editing too, just not as good as wiza's movie.
So when do we get the results from this contest from the admins?

| Unfortuneately none of the movies are great. Joka has superb quality but I still do not see a reason in making a WoW movies. I guess if you don't play it you will not enjoy it for hell. Binary effect is really cool. Best intro i think but lame title.
1336 is a decent movie but lacks a good taste. Especially that 'let's rock' picture.
Cold Blood - is a good CSS movie but rather nothing really great.
abracadabra has somewhat overused MGS3 Theme and bored me a bit despite its awesomessness. At last I see an ut3 movie what's more - a really good one and the best of the contest four. What an effective game. What an effective intro! Good one :) |

if you never played the games, go try them! and you figure out the game after a few videos. but yes you will always enjoy a vid from your fav game more. But there are a tons of great movies from games I HATE to play (CS, ra3, etc) :D
also Someone that has edited a few movies will have a different perspective on movies then someone that only plays games. an editor will understand what is easy and what is hard to do, plus appreciate attention to detail and hard work in editing. Plus if you saw a 1000 movies (like most of the admins on ownage) you should know what is creative and what is overused.

I played all of the contest games. But WoW only 15 minutes since I do not like mmorpgs and rpg's at all (without deus ex).
I think that film should please non-moviemaking peole first. |

Heh, I voted abracadabra because I was so sure cold blood would get the popular CS vote ^^
Cold blood does have some truely excellent editing tbh, but I admire abracadabra for making a strong vid on a more difficult platform ^^
