Maybe the edit in 1st person is boring for you, but maybe it's boring
to watch it in third person.Thats the main thing what can kill a good
trick movie. This fault also was made by the best
moviemakers(shaolinp.,etc.).But i'm so optimistic :) Downloading...

- X-MAS movie

Bad editing really, colors are insipid, most cameras are simply useless, and it is really too blurry. Also, the third person views are bullshit. By the way, you shouldn't have split the screen, this is more annoying than helping.

I don't know what you are criticizing. This movie is really good, the music is beautiful IMHO and suits well. The editing is also good though sometimes hard to follow 2 perspectives. It is obvious that a lot of hard work has been put into it. With all the great q3 vids out there, of course it is hard to impress. When I was first downloading q3 vids here back in 2004 everyone was like "Wow, an air rox!!!11 OMG WTF L337!" And now they complain "Ah, only double air rocket, boring" and so. The same with trick stunt vids. Although it is not perfect, overall it's a very good movie. I've seen many that were worse and had much higher ratings.
So, keep up the good work!
I hope "Walking in the air" will be out soon :) |

One of the best Q3 trickjump movies I've seen so far (and that's a lot).
What makes this movie so good?
You (the editor) used your own style of creating an interesting and fun to watch movie while everyone else is going for the shaolin productions way that we all know by now.
Lots of 3rd person, which is excellent for a change. If you truly can't understand some of the tricks, just watch it twice and you'll see. The camera angles were truely weird and unique at some parts, which makes it even better. The split screen views were distracting at first but I've grown used to them from other movies and on my 2nd run they didn't bother me at all, I liked them.
It's a very "mellow" kind of movie which isn't the standard these days. The music fits and is also pretty unique and if you think it's just the same old SP techno/trance style you don't really understand this kind of music.
Legit tricks or not? Honestly, I don't care. The times when I watched Q3 movies for outstanding tricks are over. It's style over substance these days and hey... the tricks in this movie were top notch.
Only downside of the movie: it was too short, I want more :P Especially of the slower parts, like the part after the intro... Beautiful movie, keep editing! |

i have to say, +1. Even though this movie was a bit slower than people are used to or is not within the "Shaloin Standard" (as i call it), it stands out on its own as a unique and beautiful accomplishment. Friends, people, this is a solid, good, new, fresh movie. Some of this content was new on some levels that are featured in almost every Q3A tricking movie nowadays. Many of you are complaining, but i do not think you know enough to appriciate the work that this person did and (will hopefully ;)) Keep doing! Sure, there are parts that suck, maby you dont like the 3rd person cameras (personally they added a nice touch), but there are downsides in every movie, there are times when it is not amazing. This even occurs in Shaloin movies (:0 !!). But you must look past the small problems to see the greater accomplishment. This movie is in my top 5 up there with United, iT2, and some other Defrag runs. I really enjoyed this movie. If i had to rate it, id give it an 8.
Just sit back, and if you miss something, watch it again. Once you get the full picture, you will realize the message the editor is trying to deliver and appriciate his hard work that he has done that you may not even be able to do!1
All in all, kick ass movie :D
Enjoy! |

| Ok it really seems this movie divides people :) I just wanted to comment about the tricks and if they are legit or not. I have no idea about it. This is my first tricking movie and I've never tricked myself. Since none of the trickers, who sent me demos, mentioned about scripting, I assumed they were legit. Ofcourse tricks like this are really hard to make without scripting.
Also I didn't know it should be even mentioned and oTis is right when he says they are not legit. I agree with him now that I think about it. I will add it to the description. |

Sry, i have some difficulties understanding what especially that means. The tricks look real to me. I doubt they are only scripted.
But well, if you guys think so... |

Thanks for stepping up to the plate, negoxe. I fully understand how you must be confused, being a non-tricker. For me, it is not the use of nonlegit settings that irk me to no end. Let there be no doubt that exploration the likes of Camping Gaz, or perhaps the most prolific trickjumper of them all, buddha, would not be at the same level without them. The issue here is heartless trickjumpers using nonlegit settings and trying to pass them off as legit. There can be no excuse for this, as the lack of any mention whatsoever leads people to automatically assume the content is legit. Sure, it may look very impressive, but it's also very misleading.
The argument of "its an artform without a defined rule set" is irrelevant in this case, because if these trick jumpers were truly proud of their material, they would also step up to the plate and own up to their settings.
I'm honestly sorry for attracting negative attention to your movie, negoxe. Perhaps I'm far too militant about this... |

| You can´t be sure that these jumps aren´t legit ? What proof do you have that it isn´t ? I myself can´t do those things, but that doesn´t mean that they´re not legit.
What proof does any of you have that those jumps are not legit I like to ask you ?

I just have to say, the content was really good.. Somewhat ruined by the editing tho. Don't get me wrong, i can see the editor has some great potential, but i felt a lack of harmonic flow/symmetry in the movie. Music and sync was ok, but it could have lifted the mood a bit more. Some cams were cattuthaj-techy-good :) , but some were completely overdone.. I liked the colorcorrection and such, but it could use some tweaking in the encoding for the colors not to get grainy & blurred.. For being done in just ~3months it's a sweet movie! I'd give it 6/10.
The weasels are closing in! |
