Why create this video when someone else (me,zermath, DG) was asked by CPL to do their movie?
hm
well I'll dl and see at least, I hope it won't be in the same scale

Obviously the CPL crew hasn't been as serious as they promised. CPL Summer and CPL Winter movies are made by MFAVP, but all other events can be done by others, such as eGene that made CPL Oslo.
We were hired to make the CPL Denmark movie by the CPL Crew, and we asked them to make a statement in public so that we should have the exclusive, to avoid others making a movie unannounced. Don't get me wrong, it's fully "allowed" to make the movie, but when making movies of clans, events or making biographies, one should ask for permission.
So this was something I didn't appreciate, but I suppose shit happens. I also noticed many frags missing, and this movie isn't as "big" as the official movie was going to be, so I suppose no harm is done really. Besides, I think the movie was very very good. Really nice effects and well selected frags. Good work Slink, as always :)
But next time, ask CPL first ;)
Now we have a movie to rise above, i.e. higher standards for us.
Great movie Slink, although I didn't like what is was about.

It's not Slink's fault or anything And besides, some events have multicovered movies
ESWC 2003 had 3 CS movies made and they all rock

ok, i see why you were a little taken back by this movie, though I still do not understand why the CPL would want to lessen the chances of other movies being made from the demos. People download demos all the time and use the frags in their videos. What's wrong with that? I would think nothing, but I guess the CPL wants some kind of official thing or something.
Anyway, yeah the vid had some great editing like cool wall effects and stuff. Still though, the frags didn't seem to show off skill but chance. Most of the shots were of one dude killing a whole bunch of dudes that are looking the other way. Or there would be kills from bullets that totally went off from the crosshair. Anyway, editing was good.

Yeah good movie
adamllis, you seem to understand :) The CPL don't care if the demos are used in movies. It can be in as many movies as they want. They care little if there are several CPL movies as well, but they do want like an "official" movie. That's the thing, so yeah yeah :)

sorry but i cant agree with you views...
i know many and i do movies, but i think this movie is boring. intro is very good, but you shouldt use hltv demos showing ineye scenes. maybe another reason is the music, which is monotonous and slow.(techno) there are many better techno songs i guess.
also the codec seems to make the quali bad, the fonts are very buggy(and the crosshair omg).
there are also positive aspects like sync and fx.. and different views, thats good. |
