400p = (720x400)@50 720p = (1280x720)@50
please DL x264 if you have no problem with playing back that codec, since they are much better encodes.
obviously the x264 HD(1280x720@50fps) is very hard to playback.
thanks to Nicky / levi, filefront, lasse-j, and killat0n for hosts, and anyone else that would like to please feel free.

This movie is is a new standard for image quality, that nobody has ever seen before. Brilliant quality and colors, and some breathtaking tricks. I was in complete "aw" from beginning to end.
Without question the smoothest movie i've ever seen. 50fps ftw

Well, I don't know where to start because I have much to tell. (I had 16 minutes to think about the right words :) )
First off, I dled the 300Mb version, I think it wasn't the HD then, anyway I wouldn't have been able to playback it properly. Anyway, this is a great oportunity to quote a great philosopher of 21st century, Peter Griffin, would be a shame to miss it. 50fps, 16+minutes, an overall good quality and still, only 330Mb... "How...how you do that ?" That's in my opinion the great highlight of this movie and I can't imagine what the HD version looks like.
About the content of the movie itself now, I have to confess that my knowledge about q3 bhopping and defrag is restricted and almost inexistent, my feeling about watching q3 defrag is exactly the same when I watch curling or a guitar heroe. I'm well aware it takes a lot of training, motivation and even with that you better be born gifted if you want to reach such a level, but those kind of disciplines just don't entertain me as much as I would like, as a direct result, it took me a lot of motivation to stay focused during throughout this half-an-hour. Even the best editing wouldn't really make it up for me because of that. I see 2 different parts in this movie, the first and second half. The first half was clearly content-oriented, and there were a lot of "special" parts of the musics that weren't synched, that bothered me a bit and veiled the synched parts. The second half pleased me more, mainly thanks to the apparition of 3rd persons and recammings, but also because of the acceleration of music and pace, and probably the runs, that were more impressive to watch for the ignorant I am, including very long jumps and falls. About the musics, trance might not please anybody, but I think most of the audience will be able to fully enjoy the tracks, especially the ones by pendulum and royksopp which are widely known around the world. As for me, I'm listenning to psytrance 24/7 at the moment, so you couldn't have chosen better soundtracks in my opinion.
Now I know what I should have started with: the intro, mainly because it's the beginning of the movie and it would have also been the beginning of my review, that would have been smart. Anyway, the text you've written in order to introduce mrworm was way better than the classical "fei presents...", which also give a quick opinion about mrworm's dedicaton to the mod and its community, helpfull for ignorant people, but also shows that this movie is a well deserved tribute to this man.
To sum all these things up, my opinion is that you've clearly reached your goals in this movie : fei did got an awesome quality, a great content to edit on musics he likes, while mrworm got the best reward a defrag master would wish to have. While it might be as entertaining as a team tricking movie for ignorant people like me, it must be one monument of inspiration for people who care about this mod and mrworm's records (including the 2 meanings of records here).

really nice, like 90% of the movie was first person view. Shows a lot of skill i hate 3rd person view on defrag movies, well on most movies actually lol.
Quality was really nice, and great music syncin.
Enjoyed the full 16 mins of it :)

I wrote a 10 kilometers review and forgot to talk about the 50fps
I honestly don't think it makes such a huge difference, of course the movie was very smooth, but I'm sceptical about the role of 50fps. I mean you captured your screenshots at such a huge rate that it would have also looked awesomely smooth in 25 or 30 fps.
I might be wrong considering all the tests I ever made (were on dod for a start) and where between 30 and 40 fps, with a smaller screenshots-capturing rate.

oh yeah!!
after seeing that this movie is made by fei, i had to dl it immediately.
dl in progress... but i expect a 101% perfect movie :P
edit: i enjoyed it a lot, was a very nice vid with strong content. for my taste too much 3rd person (i prefer 1st person couse it looks much more faster) not so many effects, good music, great player + editor = "Hooray \O/" |

First of all the best idea was to take pendulum as soundtrack! I just like that music. But I am more the fan of 3rdperson cams. I know there are more ppl who like 1st person, waht i cant understand but mkay. But some of the maps have been seen so often in other vids. Slowly I am really getting annoyed of that stuff! On the other side this vid contains a lot of new maps! Plus point here. I especially like the valhalla-02 map in combination with the music in the background. |

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed about this movie. The HD quality is really nice and is a pleasure to watch, but you made two big mistakes. First, you forgot to add in which physics the runs are played. It's simple and takes only 3 letters on the screen. Sometimes, you have to wait half the run to know if it's vq3 or cpm. Second, if you really want to show us the map, you have other choices than showing us what happens behind the model. About the content now, well, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's really terrible and it does not deserve a scene in any movie. Overall a decent movie. Quality: 9.5/10 Creavitiy: 6/10 Content: 6/10 Editing: 4/10
Edit: 50 FPS does make a big difference, keep it like this, it's smooth and enjoyable.

It's quite simple. In a content oriented movie, the smoother the movie is (<=> the higher the fps are), the easier it is to appreciate the performer's skill. It's also harder to hide mistakes and lucky moves on a smooth, non accelerated and clean (without blur) scene.
Thus, the first person is the best choice to watch the player's skill if you don't care about what happens "globally". Still, sometimes it becomes very hard to understand what really happens with first person because it's possible that you don't know the map or the game. If it happens, increasing the fps rate is, again, a solution. It permits to reduce blur and warp movements during fast actions. Actually, a clean movie is all about first person and high fps rate.

Didn't saw the movie yet, but from your comments I understand that this is 1st person, non-effect movie.
I'm downloading it at the moment, but if this is true, well then I'm a bit dissapointed. My standarts are: a lot of great cams, a lot of great effects, a lot of sinc, great soundtrack and good runs. That's what makes a movie worth watching.
Let me explain why. There are two tipes of movies: game-orientated (their goal is to show the game with minimal editing) and impressive-ones (their goal is to show the possibilities of moviemaking). And in our days I think that the editors should create movies with a lot of 3D, insane camera work, great effects and things that makes you like "OMG!!!!"
I'll add more after I watch the movie, but I think you've got my point.
EDIT: sorry fei, didn't like it. Too simple. First person runs with minimal sync and almost none editing. No ingame sounds. The one thing that kept me watching was the music. Especially that Above & Beyond track.
This is just not my kind of a movie. Sorry dude. Every person has he's own oppinion. I have just expressed mine.
