Please give me the link to the demo and the audio commentary.
Together that would be like 10mb, not over 300.
Yes you could make a movie about it but not with that ingame hud, it's horrible :)

He said something about sync.. I will give it a try because I have time.
I just watched a bit of it. Good that there are streaming videos before you will download them.
There
is no music, it's only scenes of the match cut together in first person
of both players + audio commentary. The config is like q3 standard with
all huds and no improved colors I guess, there is just no editing or
anything :)
I noticed I even watched the demo shown here. With
my music in the background it was more fun. I am sorry, don't want to
be rude. But if you don't edit a movie at all but just put audio
commentary in the background it would be time-saving and easier to do
if you just uploaded a zip with the demo + audio commentary in it.
Everybody can start his audio player and sync the commentary to the
demo.
With some great color correction and very nice ingame
sound quality (what do I know, some panning maybe) and only useful huds
in good format it would be nice I guess.

Thing is... you have to have Quake3:Arena to view the democast, where as a video - anybody can view it. But yeah, the democast allows you to do whatever you want with the hud, colors, etc. GG

Ok people without q3a installed can watch this too, I understand.
But I don't think maybe people without q3a will even download this.
I also know you don't want to make it a show off for your editing skills but I still don't understand the reason for posting such videos.. or making such videos. 300mb and more is a looooooot something that you can watch ingame at home if you have the game. You wouldn't have bad quality, you can have the commentary, you can set the hud however you want to.
So you made this for the people who don't have q3a?

i can download the demo from q3a faster than 3 videos about 900mb. its not a bad critic just a tip for you man. it would be fully ok if the compression were much better.

| I personally like movies like this. Demos are great, but i don't have q3a (or ut2004, or cs) installed on my psp or ipaq to watch them there. Thats where the movies come in handy.
Now about these particular movies, Auri said it right. You should work more on colors, editing, config, quality (well, pretty much on everything). 300 megs with 15 mins of 640x480 video and quality is a mess. This can't be right. Read some guides about video and audio compression. |
