Description:
Pinnacle is a ut2004 tdm movie featuring the best frags from CPL 2004 Winter Extreme Event and ClanBase EuroCup XI. Both of these were 4on4 TDM Tournaments with money prizes and lan finals with the best clans from all over the world attending.
This movie has been in production on and off for about a year now. I started off by watching about 33 server side demos from CPL, which means 264 of 20 minute maps when you count all the players. Because I was feeling rather suicidal, I also gathered as many ECXI demos as I could find, meaning about 16 server side and 37 client side demos. After watching the demos I took a long break from everything and resumed working on this project after my spring holidays.

Content: 8/10 A lot of pretty nice frags against very good players. It's a big plus that it's all clanwars. Some frags were average. The music was in typical style. I kinda agree that it didn't feel very matching.
Editing: 6/10 Well the non matching of the song was probably also because you didn't have synch with the songs. There was hardly any editing done, so I don't know why I should give a high mark here.
Quality: 9/10 As always you show very sharp quality. You know how to make ut2k4 look good. Still the movie is 60 mb/min so it's not weird that it looks this good. I don't think you did a lot of colour correction, which I kinda missed.
Creativity: 7/10 Like I said a big plus for having only clanwar fights. The song was also unexpected like always. I didn't see that much other creative stuff.
Overal: 7,5/10 Well it wasn't as nice as ur previous movies. It was quite good this time.

| Nice movie. Some worthy content in there. The music choice is questionable though. Radiohead rocks but it doesnt fit in this kind of movies. At least not the "Idioteque" song. Still i prefer it this way rather than listening to overused cliche crap. GJ. |

The colorediting creates a nice style but that was everything about editing in the whole movie?!
The Frags were great, but they weren't presented very well... no rypel? Okay, but no announcements? No additional editing like shaking cam or overglows either?
The music doen't fit very well to a fragmovie and you diddn't match it to the scenes.
All in all the only good things are the frags, while quality was ok.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes,
or should I? |

Amazing quality, good frags, but waaay too
short. I felt like you could've added another 5 minutes easily. There
were so many good games at cpl that surely there had to be more
incredible frags than just 5 mins. Either way, I enjoyed it and I'm
just glad I wasn't shown gettin fragged. :)

Quality and Frags were very nice.
But i was a little bit dissapointed from the rest. If it´s an event it´s always nice to hear at least some shoutcasts or something.
The Vid has a very slow apperience(togheter with the music) i miss some speed in it.
No Intro and no rypel at all(or i´m wrong) I don´t want to say that Vids need to have some Rypel in it to be good, but you are one of the people who can use it very good.
but gj anyway :) |
