nice music, nice syncro.
poor quality, to dark, and no waeponview which is avaiable from long time and make fragmovies from ut2k4 more dynamic - pitty.

Out of Oxygen 1 is one of my favorite movies, because I like the feeling in it; the music in it was perfect and I liked the editing of it. So when I click'd on the Out_of_Oxygen_2_XviD.avi I was eager to see wether J1 would have captured that magical feeling that OOO1 had.
I liked the colours / image quality in this movie, some in my opinion very nice cameras and effects ( I loved the triple rocket still cam and the burning man camera ). The music fit the overall editing style, and everything was over par except for one thing, whick killed the movie for me: slow-motion.
The demos, which were recorded with over 30fps (presumably around 60fps) and captured need to have their speed increased to around 150%. In this movie, they were increased to around 120%, and the first person frags look very slowmotionish. This kills the aggressive feeling that the editing and music give, and the video doesn't work for me.
I liked the creative effects in this movie (particularly outro, which was awesome), thus 9 in creativity. The image quality was imo ok, and I think the content is ok. But because of the slowmotion I give editing 7, even though rest of the movie would have deserved 8-9 (there were some choppy parts but they really didn't bother me, and they were only few parts, nothing serious). The slowmotion is one small mistake, but it has big consenquences in the overall mood, which somewhat kills it for me.

I intend to improve and have taken your advices seriously.
"You killed..." text had to be removed because:
1. It is not necessary to know who gets killed in these entertainment films
2. The movie looks more clean and simple with one less textline
3. The everlasting "Only killing top5 players are TEH only über frags" -issue about fragmovies. This is entertainment and now you can't bitch about that :D (well there is a list about all of the people who gets fragged in the readme .txt file but they are not in any order what so ever).
"Slowmo" -looking because of the FPS will be fixed in the next movies :)
KRIS, poor quality?! :D the movie being too dark in the last half ain't about quality, it's the contrast values I placed. And I admit it became a bit darker then I intended but it still looked nice and you can see what's happening so it didn't bother me that much. There was a french Q3 movie where the textures and colors were changed soooo much I had hard time figuring out what's happening but after a short while it was no problem at all and it looked really nice, different and artistic :) As Electry said to me that the contrast values made the movie come alive and I agree with that. But hey people have different opinions and that's it.
The only UT2k4 movie that I've seen with weaponmodels on and looked nice is ReNemesis' Replication X. And he ain't going to put them on ever again :D atleast that's what he said to me for a while ago. Plus that adds more work for the editors and I think we have enough work already :D just minor improvements here and there are the key to a succesful movie.

J1 - it is just my opinion, i think that quality is pure cause if You watching Your movie on full screen or just in 100% of size, edges not so sharp, all looks like little blured, there is no possible to see details, which could be visible. Colours... OK it's thing of taste, for me could be more intesive from the begining.
All this things connected makes quality pure, for me. I expected more from 1280x720 video.
There is one more movie (or more) with weapon view looks very good, take a look on mg78 movies.

ok good movie but not great =[. i did kinda except a whole lot.
so the beginning, kinda dark combos looked a little pale i thought they were purple, nice frags sync was great good choice of music.
part 2, i like how you set the mood of the video with the music, soft intro to song so soft color it gets a +. this part reminded me of escalation unfortunately, cuz his movie contrast was dark and it looked the same, why not keep the movie how you see it when you play, with the except to fx and the mood of the music. oh yeah nice cam work
outro, funny and good
overall 7/10 i really like seeing who gets fragged but oh well, sync was on, frags were nice, nice cam work, music was good set a nice vibe for the entire movie, just the coloring, i like watching videos that looks like im playing back the demo with the settings maxed out, but with special fx :D
gj guys cant wait for renemesis'sSSSSSSSSSSSSSssss new video; sounds weird with just 2 S's so i added more :P

very nice movie there, like the deatchmessages and the music is also pretty original.

| My thoughts are almost identical with jarnul, except that the slowmotion doesnt disturb me. 3O has a great feeling in it, it makes me feel that playing ut2004 is great and its something that no other movie has in them. I was hoping that 3O2 had that same feeling in it, but that slow metal music (or whatever :p) just doesnt do it for me.
I like the sync and the cameras, but i like to see colors in fragmovies so i'm not a fan of the color correction in this movie. The intro had quite low fps (was it made on purpose?) but the outro is fun :D
The frags are kinda like the same as in 3O; some great shots and some ok ones. Personally i dont think that the airrockets which are shot from very close are that impressing.
Overall 3O2 is a good movie. If 3O would be around 8,457/10 i would give this a 8/10. |
