| Good, solid 8.5 point movie. There were little mistakes in the movie but they didn't bother me that much (b&w color scene was little choppy, the text font was kinda out of place etc.). I liked the music, which had it's own style in the fragmovie world, and it was synced pretty nicely in my opinion. Best thing is that it felt like sixteen movie, and had a unique style, which I liked. |

I was a bit sceptic about this movie. When the movie started, the music was somehow umm... not suiting for me and that combined to recams that were far from perfect, I thought that hopefully it gets better than this. Also the synching from black/white background to colored models was a bit disturbing. The frags in the intro were nice, but the cams could've been better, like tricking with different angles and FOV etc. This time they just looked...old and simple. But, that's it for the intro.
Then the fragpart, first of all something about the config. No color correction and no motion blur which sucks. The player nicks are placed nicely to the center and with that font and colour it suits the music and the atmosphere of the movie really well. But then the green text notifying you who is the player your against.. That just looks bad - I know it because I've made that mistake also. Also the white messages are unnecessary to be seen in a movie (no one doesn't care if you take 100-shield or not). The generic UT-font showing "you killed" etc. suits well, as always. Not much of transitions, mainly the classic cross dissolve / opacity fade transitions, except @ 1:47, I really liked that transition. There were minimal effects, just hc fragging and a couple of wireframe shots and I think I saw some glow synching @ goose as well. I liked the frags but again the recams could've been better.
Then the "outro". One word - boring. It took ages to show the "my super sweet" etc. and you could've made it in 2 seconds and use more frags instead of showing black screen with pink letters appearing with the beat of the song. I already thought the movie is just going to end with a long black screen but then came the "bonus" telefrag. I usually don't laugh during fragmovies, but this time... a laugh burst just came out of my mouth because of the song. It was just, I don't know... hilarious and genious! :D You really gotta love the irony hiding in that song. Although if you aren't finnish then it's hard to understand what's _really_ funny about it. And that last very scene made this movie a good one for me. That scene fits perfectly to everything, your attitude, behaviour, age, playing style (shock ffs!) and it tells that this movie is really about you gays..ehm, I mean guys.
Pros:
"me ollaan pissiksii!!!!" xD, beautiful frags, font and font colour, synching, some camruns, music (even though I didn't really like it, it really fits to the movie), video quality, no weapon show
Cons:
overall config , most camruns, filesize, no color correction/mblur
Conclusion: a good movie from a newcomer (not gonna give any number from 1-10 to you, even though numbers are eternal or how was it again?)
For the next movie: keep the quality content, add color correction and mblur and keep on synching and I think you'll do just fine. |

Finally someone gave realistic feedback (except jarnul's comments in irc) and all i can say is that i agree. The camruns, well i didnt (stíll dont have) have any special ideas or "rypelcam skills" but i wanted the camruns to show frags clearly so that the watcher doesnt have to guess what happened. Yea the config needs fixing. I hadnt thought about removing those green texts but the white messages i left there intentionally. Dont know why though :D Looks like i forgot to add motion blur there but it doesnt disturb me o_O and i never thought about adding color correction, but now i know that it's needed or at least good to be there. I said what i think about the outro already at unrealnorth so I'll just copy paste it here
- Well I thought about doing a proper outro first, but I didnt have any ideas. I tried a couple of things but then I decided to keep it simple. (yes the outro is quite lame and i'm not that satisfied with the ending of the movie (meaning the last few frags) but i was eager to get the movie done so I let it be)
Thx for the feedback, it will become handy when i'm starting my next project :)

One of the best this year, very very nice soundtrack and excelent syncro, good camera work and frags. Clear editing. Overall 8.5
