to make it short :
+ intro + frags (espc. SmithZz) + music + 2nd song gives more speed
+- sync +- quality
- font in Intro - outro - blending 2nd fragpart to Outro
>> 7.5 shoulda do it

Cool, I liked the movie very much.
Few issues: the movie died down towards the end. You used the more powerful and easier to synch song first which left the second song weak, this emphasized the problem with most long movies; the editor runs out of ideas towards the end.
There were some killer transitions in there, like that one train one. However there were few bad ones too (such as the color switch at inferno). Synch was very well done, especially in the first song (save for that one scene where you had slow motion through the chorus). The second one was good too but not as good. Overused songs are a bit of a minus, as is the ever so pointless wall of screens.
Things got a bit too hectic at times. I know that it was a synch factor in the second song but too fast is too fast, the viewer just doesn't have the time to really see what's going on let alone appreciate the frags. The CS-movie scene really needs to calm down.
+ Quality + Colors (ok, a bit dark at times but didn't bother too much) + Synch + Cams (too bad these too died down towards the end) + Some transitions
This was probably the best CS:S movie I've ever seen. Even if people don't like the game they should watch it for the editing (especially the synch in the first song). I'd also llike to congratulate you on not f*cking up your movie with the ripple effect. Probably the only movie that used the effect properly. |

Hey team webone, im writing this review cuz i luved the releases by bkr
NEGATIVES: - Major negative: When you encode in x264 DO NOT use VBR for your audio. It makes it generally impossible to VCR scan in most players.
- intro was WAY too long. it was at least 2 minutes. - the track matte overlay was a nice effect the first few seconds, then it kept going - for like another minute and 40 seconds. Dont do this. - Color correction at 2:10-2:20 was EXCELLENT. Then color correction failed after that. Check your histograms / levels controls. if youre going to crash your black levels it should be for art shots. Around 3:40 it seemed you were just playing with color controls at that pont. - freezing effect was NOT done well. this could have been alot better, and wasnt carefully synched - multipanel at 4:40 went on way too long . Effects are like spice. You make it the main dish and only nubs think its good. - sped up gameplay around 5:00 was clearly sped up in the editor, thus messing up the sounds. Speed up and re-record within your demoreplay so the sounds aren't high pitched. Sometimes i get lazy and dont want to record the same scene twice because i dont know if ill need the high speed or low speed version. But do it at least for the high speed.
POSITIVES:
+ Resolution, excellent. This is how it should be. + Encode : 16:9 720p 40fps good. Like i said before stop using VBR in your releases. + Music : Totally approrpriate, got the right feeling. + Frags: Excellent + Clip choices: Excellent + Color correction Improved once you stopped fiddling with it + Editing seemed much more tolerable once you focused more on the frags.
Overall: 7.5/10 You almost killed this vid with the overlay matte at the too-long intro. And the vid almost died again on the multi-panel. 2-3 seconds TOPS on that. Didn't "feel it" overall. Had some good moments but I really felt some things just RUINED it. If you kept the wavy light overlay going for say, 3 - 4 seconds, I would have been impressed, but keeping it going made me think amateur.
