I think i don't have to introduce Danny "fRoD" Montaner to u. This movie features some of his frag highlights during his Counter-Strike 1.6 time, where he was especially known for his awesome AWP work.

Description:

"Thisis the official Counter-Strike 1.6 frag movie about DannyfRoD Montaner who currently plays in the CS:S division of TeamcompLexity.

The major part of the movie is made by cRZYFST, meaning intro,outro and half the frag part while the other frag part is editedby Xyanide.

Both Xyanide and cRZYFST decided to realize a frag part concept that theyalways wanted to use, but hesitated to do in the past because it's arather unconventional thing to do. They will not mention what it is inparticular since the movie would be too predictable in that case. Justtrust them that they're trying to bring something fresh to your screens andkeep that in mind while watching the movie. If you'll expect a typicalXya or cRZY movie you'll most likely get disappointed. So don't expectanything, free your mind, and observe the work that possibly will bethe one most in accordance with our characters."

The main idea when we started the movie
was to piss people off by using music that really just a tiny fraction
of the audience could possibly enjoy. In a way it's a call to the rest
of the moviemaking community to be different and not to rely on its own
habits. That's why I went for the extreme, muc like I did on Eve. The
difference to Eve is that the music is extreme in a way, but it's still
a lot easier to get into. I could have made the movie with some weird
minimal electro and it probably would have been a huge success. I guess
the fact shows that I didn't make the movie for anyone else but myself
(and Xyanide). Why release it at all then? Simply because I promised I
would and because there's always the chance that others enjoy it and
get inspired by it to try out something new themselves. All in all I
created a movie that I'm finally able to enjoy myself. And how many of
the other editors can claim that from one of their own movies?

so well, here we are. The trailer was released back in September 2oo7, so almost 1 year passed by after the final release comes out. It was also nice, to hear something from Xyanide and cRZYFST.

But lets concentrate on the video, i try to make it short :

+ intro
+ frags (mostly awesome awp shots)
+ colours
+ sync (!)
+ effects (some new)
+ outro (re-run of some frags)
- length (4,5 Minutes for a 1-year-editing-movie?! Cmon!)
- u've seen 85% of the frags in other videos yet
- music (that was just out of league, a bit to gross, too aggressive)

Somehow, its hard for me to rate the movie. There is a lot work in it, starting with the sync and effects and ending with the great intro and outro. Otherwise, i can't listen to that specific metal music, that was just one hardcore trip, to listen to that!
I think all in all im happy with 7.5 points, still, its a great movie and lovely to watch (if u turn the speakers off ;-) )

Well, i was expecting a little much for it, but, this movie is impressive !

I don't like the music, my taste, but the synch/editing is well done.

As always, iceCake give us a very good movie, this one was little short but (as always) very good !

Good job guys, i enjoyed it :)

(Juste a note, .rar files already contain crc32 control check sequence, the sfv is -usually- used for the .rar and not files in)

I could be wrong, but AFAIK, xyanide was unable to create his frag part, due to whatever reasons. Hence they decided that he'll make the intro instead. cRZYFST worked for a few months and created his frag part. After that, since xyanide was busy he completed his intro only now. So basically this video is not exactly a '1 year production'.

Anyways, I loved the vid. Yes, the song might not be everyone's cup of tea. But it's extremely hard to sync it as well as he did. The editing, the pacing were excellent. The intro was beautiful, although I was gonna use a similar shadow effect in my vid :( . The outro caught me off-guard. :D

There are two audio streams available - with and without ingame sound. I personally prefer with the ingame sound on.

what the fuck just happened? i started it, i heard a lot of screaming, then a whole bunch of blinking and colors popped up on my screen with some indescernable cs clips, and then it ended in only 4 minutes... what a waste. conclusion: AWFUL cs movie 0/10

Nice new effects and nice colors imo, then i noticed this one clip where was Sounds of tha game, why only one? I understand that the music ruins the gamingsounds but that one sound was pretty usless there. overall this was a great movie and only - was the music, such shit 7/10

Really awesome movie, yeah old frags, but the editing was superb.. Sync, quality, effects, colors etc. was well made.. Loved the music! Too short imo but still 9/10

It's like crzy forgot about what makes a good fragmovie and just concentrated on editing his ass off. In the process he managed to reproduce most of the mistakes that made half the people dislike the Insane Players -movies. Sure there are nice effects (except the ridiculous glow) but they were so frequent that they didn't seem all that significant. Even worse they took the attention away from the frags. A rookie mistake in my book.
One thing I have to mention: the quality was best I've seen in a CS movie. But really, that's the highlight of this piece.

Good enditing but an average movie.

Ahmm.. they took the attention away from the frags? Oh really? Why I didn't notice that? Probably because I was capable to watch frags and editing at the same time. Maybe you just were too focused to analyze the movie and you only d focused to critize, what bad and good there were. A good viewer can focus to each different little pieces which are made on purpose by the editor. I'm not saying that I can focus on everything but when I watch REAL movies I can keep on track the plot same time as I analyze the smallestl and detailed things.

A rookie mistake..? I would say that this editor has done a lot of movies. It's a guess but I would say that the maker of this gamemovie is not a rookie because the skill of editing what he has shown is quite awesome.

Sorry about this flame but I just couldn't be quiet and also sorry for my English.

One of the best movies I have ever seen :

++   Quality : super quality, super colors, a bit too dark sometimes but OK
++   Effects : many of them and people will complain about them, but I <3 it !
++   Music : not everyone's taste, but such songs just fit perfectly to the scenes (and again good with the two audio tracks)
+/-   Frags : awesome, but only awp and already seen, but good set

It has been a while since I could enjoy a really good fast-paced movie, but this is so well fast-paced, I am simply in love with it. Awesome job dude, not everyone will like it as you said but you got my heart for sure.

Not 10/10 because of the frags which set the content a little lower, but editing is perfect for me, just like in ops.

Well you ought to be sorry since it once again comes down to opinions and it's not worth it to fight over them.

In any case I can assure you that this movie had my full attention and I did concentrate on it as a whole. In fact that is exactly where my critisizm rose; the editing overpowered the content, it didn't feel balanced.
I also know that crzy has made many movies since I've watched most of 'em. That's another reason why I critisized the editing: His previous movie handled things a lot smoother (or more accurately, handeled things more to my liking). They weren't as Insane Playerish if you get what I mean. Quite ironic, in fact, seeing how much they like to trash the IP movies at SP.net.

If it makes you feel better I can add to my previous comment that the effects were really well made. Still, Il won't recommend this movie to a guy wanting to see a really good fragmovie.

As you said it's all about opinions. I just wanted to bring out my own opinion because you said yours quite harsh. Our minds work different and we like different things but you can't say that this is bad movie (you said so in your last sentence, not straight but still said it) because it really isn't. It isn't a perfect movie but it isn't a bad movie either. If this isn't good when comparing to his earlier movies that's okey but maybe the maker wanted to try something different? Of course he wanted, no-one likes to do similiar things after another.

Don't know but this is my last comment on this video.. Stupid to continue argument 'cos we know that it won't end.

I called the movie average and I'll stick to that. Harsh? Who knows, but that's not for you to decide. I'll throw another thought out in the air: This movie fell short because it was made for the moviemakers and not for the players.

The editing had a finesse of which i haven't encountered since Catutthaj Jhana, however it wasn't flawless with some effects not as well thought out.

In my opinion the negatives in this movie are minor - the intro wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the editing, and the default audio stream should've contained the ingame audio. The file size could've been lower but we've all got broadband so is it really an issue?

Overall 8.5/10, shame this is the last release from niklas but who knows?
