I think a lot of people will say that the effects are overused. I like them. Especially this blur mask for the background. The quality was superb and nothing to criticize here. It even isn't too dark on my monitor, like a lot of other new q3 movies.
The music wasn't good, in my opinion, since I don't like Disturbed.
But the last song reminded me (because I didn't listen to the text) of CHRISTMAS.

you right its little bit dark, i made movie on my lcd and after finished on crt and sayz "whats the fuc¨k?" i cannot simple set color settings on crt like on lcd... happy christmas mwhahahaa...

hehe...
I were really impress by the intro. From the han-sai logo to the title with that water effects and transitions, it was top.
The rest was flat.
The color wasn't my taste and looks like Masader's Moonlight series style. Too blendy and colorful, I don't think it fits with quake 3.
less is more
Moreover not too much synchs ( maybe of that songs...)
I like the 2nd song :P
About the content, first it wasn't amazing frags but because they were made in clan wars, I suppose it's not against noobs, so it's ok!
About the quality it was good but for a x264 too big first, then I notice you dont compress the audio, is it right ?
If yes why? you would gain 50-60 mb maybe
But i see efforts on editing
I think your next movie should be top!

That's why I like it, I guess. I love Masader's Style. Well the intro was... mostly Andrew Kramer. Nothing against you Termi... I will do the tuts myself, too sometime :D They are pretty good. |

A medium quality version would be very nice because my 1.66 Ghz Core Duo can't handle this "Very High QUALITY 720p" movie. Especially because the freeze frames looked and sounded quite interesting.
Edit: Now with the MQ version I can watch the movie. But I still have to use mplayer with some -lavdopts options which reduce quality in order to play this movie smoothly. You should have reduced the quality more.
However, I like the style of the movie. The heavy amount of colour correction make it special in comparison to other movies but I think it is sometimes too dark and I like the style of the music with this "thunder sync", too. |

| Yeah, so I hope you'll notice the fact that every frag is made in clanwars. We didnt want to make a movie from random duel arenas / pickups / FFA CA. It could contain more midairs etc, but that was not our goal. We decided to make a movie from only cw's. I also want to thank Termi who made great work with the movie. Hope you guys like the movie and see the difference between 'normal' Ra3 frag movies and this one. |

To enlight my thoughts about the video:
The slowmotion in every frag felt senselessy jerky.
Was there some logic in depth of field usage? You seemed to apply it randomly on everything, even on the enemies.
You shorten your nick and end up with same nick as shaolinproductions termi. Woot?

hmm the screenshots were very promising... so Ive been a lil disappointed.
intro was very nice!
I liked the colorsettings...
some nice cameras :)
the dof was clearly overused and often disturbed. especially since the fragmessages were blurred partly most of the time. maybe a lower blur next time.
the twitch transitions didnt fit imo.
and omg! nearly 1:30min credits for a 5:30min movie... :(
size was ok imo... 60mb/min is not great but quite typical for HD actually.
content was average... some good scenes but also lots of standard frags
overall pretty good but I believe you can do better :) |

I'm not especially a fanboy of RA3 movies, but I still watching them each time one of them is published (I enjoyed lot of them in past.. even if I prefer CTF or TDM/Duel movies).
But... 5min30 (with ~2min30 of intro/outro), that's mean that there is about 300 MB for 3 min of real frags scene.
And because of that it is the 1st time ever that a q3 movie freezed my VLC on some scene (perhaps bandwith was about 25Mbit/s at the peak) + too much fx = I can't appreciate the frags :x
EDIT : I always smile when I see that :

Well just watched this, not bad.
+ Quality was excellent even on LQ
+ Intro was very entertaining, song fit perfectly imo
+ Some nice effects
+ Short and sweet ;)
+ Some nice frags

- kind of dark in places
- some more recams needed e.g. triple rail(?) on "overkill"
Overall, worth a watch

Hehe was fun to see old ra3 dudes from finland in a movie. I think it was a really sweet movie but I have got to give you Termi a few thoughts of mine (and sum criticism too).
++ The intro was very nice I really liked it.
+ Editing in general was gooood.
+ Content was good and I hoped it would have been a little bit longer vid. :D
+ Music worked for me.
- I didn't really like the sort of mask effect during the frags. I got a feeling like I was in a biohazard suit or something becouse of the colors n stuff. On the other hand it was quite refreshing at the same time. Maybe there could be some kind of a compromise to make it really work.
- As I am more content errr based (?) viewer I'd like the frags as they were in the game. No slowmo or zooming etc when the magic happens. I think the speed of the game is one of the coolest things there so I want to see the reactions just as they are. :P
-/+ Quite dark movie but I guess its just the adjustments I have...?
-/+ Credits were a bit too long I guess.
I see that you have the skill to make sweeeeet movies but as said above: too much effects makes it no good. There has to be balance. ;D Anyway, great job Termi! A keeper... |

Good intro/editing in general, and the DOF effect was a good idea indeed. Too bad it was so strong.
Wonder why you took out the teamskins ? Makes everything more confusing for no gain.
