nice vid, cool effects(!), lots of OMFG frags, nice soundtracks and synching... This is a CS movie like i've never seen before, certainly not the best, but not bad either, it's just... different :) I recommend this vid to anyone who's reading this... DOWNLOAD IT!! :P
Couple of sucky things...
Quality wasn't too good
Switching between left and right hand models throughout the movie, what's up with that?

The intro was a nice touch, kinda original and it had a moose. What can you hate about that?
Also some of the techniques you used for editing i hadn't seem before and were quite nice. The choice of music was pretty good too.
Editing 9
Some of the techniques you used to sync some effects and using wallhack on some things to show some great walls were a great touch. I don't really want to give anything in the movie, but a lot of the editing you did was great in my opinion. If you were to go by the syncing tut that's in the forums. There's a lot of micro and mini syncing in this video, i haven't watched it enough to say if there's macro and mood syncing but it's still pretty well done. kudos on that
Content 8
There were a lot a crazy noscopes and headshots that were nice. There weren't really any filler kills, and the ones that were used did a very good job syncing with the video even though most of them were still good to begin with.
Quality 6
The only area I'm saddened by as the quality of the ingame and other things weren't that great but usually that's understandable. The compression used wasn't that amazing, and I'm sure you'll do a better job next time. There weren't any really bad errors in your clips like say keeping random hud_saytext or net_graph. My only wish would have been that you spent so much time on the video, that you could have spent a little longer on figuring out how to compress the movie. Alas, nothing is perfect.
Regardless if you like cs movies, I suggest you dl this movie right now and watch it and be amazed :D
If you have the time but aren't really into cs videos, I'd still suggest this video for some of the editing the guy does which are superb I think.

Regardless of what you used, (the config differences aren't as major as other games like q3) great job on the movie. Hope you come out with some more

Great movie, very unique. Just like botb the main issue i have is the quality, but another thing, why run it at 40 fps? 30 should be well enough for smooth playback, i could understand you might want a few more fps for the slowmo scenes but for those you could always slow the demo down in-game while watching it :P Just wonderin :P you could shave off a good bit of that filesize had it been rendered at at least as low as 30 fps :)
Besides those two things, everything else I really enjoyed. The cool looking wallhack effect and others as well. And you did a good job on the synching too. Keep it up :) |
