ok mirror should be fixed.
overall a pretty solid video. good content, various effects and viewpoints used. syncing..
only thing i can really complain about is the quality. not clear enough for my liking but still viewable.

nicely done, enjoyed it a lot :) But.... at the beginnning and the end there's like all those people who star in the movie. And later on,when you start with the frags, you just let the "game-thingy" select Spawn, would 've been cooler if you'd categorized by player and then select every time you switch. But anyways 8/10

(about time for some more Q3 Frag highlights) :D
Excellent movie!
Very well edited, I have to admit I was rolling my eyes at first with all the "Killer Instinct" artwork supplied in the .rar and the other crap... but I really liked this movie. Perhaps it's because I liked the Killer Instinct game too? Some frags were just "fillers", but most of the frags were great. The "combobreaker" part was AWESOME! :D
Almost everything in this movie I liked, but here's some critisism's on the stuff I didn't like:
- too much dm6
- HUGE effect for that non-kill shot @ 1:14
- most effects were nice, but some were cheesey. \o/
- should have taken off "cf_scores" because some of the scores were blowouts.
- the "dm17 grenade" section almost looked staged. (same opponent, same type of frags)
- A couple other big-name movies have used that Metallica song... :/ but the overall music for this movie went very well.
It's obvious that a lot of time was put into this movie and it shows throughout...

A little like Bun. But I would say: always the same maps and the same frags (I mean the frags shown here are nice but many of them are overseen in Quake3 movies, as for dm6)...
Nice use of some filters, but sometimes it was too much. Nice idea to mix it with Killer Instinct, but the link between the movie and that game was rather weak.
A lot of work was put in this movie and it was nicely done, but if like me you have seen tons of Quake movies before the frags have nothing original, and then are less entertaining.
Not enough freecam imo too.
About the dm17 sequence I think it was not staged, but it was taken during a game when the opponent decide to use only the grenade (I do sometimes during warmups, or just pummel). In that case it is rather weak because it is easy to get such shots that way (easier than playing against bots).
To sum up good movie, but the frags look like the frags in many other Quake movies.
Alcohol is the answer, but I can't remember the question!

and dm6, ztn are just mostplayed, how to get frags on
that (many and often beautiful) exotic maps ?!
the problem is u cant play one time such a map
and say 'oh comon lets make a dozen awesome frags..' ;>

This movie was no good :/
Editing was fine config was fine music was fine, but...
The players didn't seem to have great skill.. Looked like a bunch of counter-strikers wich gave q3 a try and didn't know what the hell they were doing.
Shooting 5 spamrockets (wich all miss by a long shot) and then luckily killing him with the 6th while he happens to be a bit off the ground is not a movie frag.
The rest were just "4 enemy's come blatantly barging into you and you shaft them down with 13. acc"-frags.
It was like a Film with a great script a great story and crappy b-actors.
better luck next time

Wow, pretty cool movie.
Well, I'll start with the bad, I guess. Quality was a tad low for my tastes for such a well edited movie! And aside that, I would've liked to have seen more KI-related stuff, like maybe some combo wavs/graphics on some frag runs (I wish there was more of, single frags don't excite me too much alone), or on-screen graphics (though I know how hard that can be since I tried making a DDR/quake combination movie once rofl). Oh, and the dm17 frags kind of sucked since it's pretty obvious you guys spent a while just fragging there so it'd probably be easy to get a lot of good shots :p
Some really nice effects in there, however. I liked the flamethrower shaft for the intro to Fire. Aside that, megaprops on using Gravity Kills, glad some others out there can appreciate their poetic industrial sound. I used them once in one of my movies, but the movie itself is really sub-par - it's on my website, didn't upload here just due to lack of editing/etc.
I dunno, I can't really pinpoint any little thing. The syncing of the whole movie was great and all the cool little effects like the lightning gun in the one scene just made it. Every other scene was a new effect that was in-place and fit mostly well. Really, it should be informative for most other movie makers on how to implement subtle things that really make a movie better. Also how to cut to the chase, I liked how you did the one "going-up-jumppad" railshot in q3dm6, and then did like 4 more in a row right after it, INSTEAD of doing each one of them drawn-out by themselves.

Cool to see you appreciate my criticisms, becasue some people get angry against me for the same stuffs.
I know that i is difficult to get good frags on less played maps because you don't spend a lot of time on them.. All the movie makers have this problem (even if some of them don't notice it).
The problem is that everybody play dm6, everybody make movie featuring their frags on dm6, so a nice frag on dm6 is too common, and when you do a nice frag on it, you have 90% chance a similar frag has already been shown in an other movie.
There are not many solutions: playing other maps (not easy because you can't play alone :p), when you select footage, try to be more picky on dm6 shots and less with exotic maps (dm6 or any other overplayed map), keep the most original ones, you can try to get footage from many players too, so you have a larger choice for exotic map, and some player play more dm6, other ra3map11, other tourney4...
This criticism was not only against you (in fact it is just because I noticed it more on that vid than on others), but against most of the movie makers (with habit now I can predict most of the frags before they happen in a movie, too bad...).
Good luck for your next vid (if you do an other).

@Spawnsen: don't take care of him, there will always be people to criticize your movie (like me), but some of them won't do it in a constructive way, only despising other people's work. The best one I saw in that category was a post on a movie from me (by anon here: http://www.own-age.com/vids/video.aspx?id=643&page=2 ). Sometimes the criticism are not directed to the movie but to the movie maker (insults, etc...), and that shows (imo) a lot of stupidity from the author of such posts.
