Luved this movie to bits, my kind of movie.
Quality was spot on
Editing has something new to the community, original and exciting to watch
Content jeez so many sprees, the deathmatch has its own feeling to the movie and it rules! great kills with m60 and rest of the weapons, favourite part was the mm1 multi killing spree, luving it mate
Music fitted well with the movie, even though i wouldve preferred it to be harder rock it still shows the intensity while chicane was fighting off the noobs lol jk
A must download for all, and shows what i think should be the quality of sof2 movies at present
In this movie you should expect a great all round sof2 movie
a keeper for me :) gg mate

I like this movie, and I liked all your other movies. The editing was great, the quality was great...but all your movies had one bad thing that made me only watch them once.
PUB FRAGS
Pub frags a lame. You know why? Because pubs are lame. 90% of the frags in the movie could be pulled by a first time player. There wasn't one ounce of skill the that entire movie, or in any of your movies. Nobody cares if you can shoot a guy with a shotgun 5 times while he STANDS in front of you throwing knives. WOW YOU OWN THE WORLD
Join a clan, or get demos from good players, and stop wasting time making movies featuring yourself unless it's scrim/match footage. |

Damn, never have I been this disappointed after watching a movie which had gotten so many good comments. Is it just me or was this a very mediocre movie?
I mean, movies with all public frags are never really highly accepted as skill movies in any game (like CS and RTCW), because there is such a big difference between a really good player and some (or should I say most?) of the people who play on publics. Like spoonraker said, anyone can make a vid like this. I don't mean to disrespect Chicane or any of the players in this movie, but I've seen a few SOF 2 movies, and I've seen a lot with better, more impressive frags as this movie.
Also the editing, what on earth's name was so special about that? The cheap intro scene with the cheap movie screen? The small effects? The developer mode bits (those were ok, but not revolutionary, many CS vids have these kind of scenes)? I'm sorry, but I really don't understand it...
The quality was OK, and there were a few cool knife and M203 kills, but the spamming (I'm deliberately avoiding the word spraying, because it's not really spraying) with the M60 and M590 ruined it a bit for me.
Wow, I've never been this critical in a movie review, I'm sorry. I don't like myself this way...look at how you're making me feel! ;-)
I'm sure many of you disagree with me, please try and make me change my feelings about this movie, because I can't understand why I feel so different about this movie (I've even watched it twice to make sure I wasn't sleeping the first time) than all the other people who have commented on it before me.
Anyway Chicane, good luck on your next projects and please don't hate me for this! :D

Let me say this about it:
Yes, it is deathmatch. Yes the average player is not so skilled there, so yes, collecting the footage was relatevely easy.
I started thinking about a dm movie because of the m203 on kam5 (well seen Widow!), and we have seen so many ctf movies already, and i cannot remember a dm movie, while there is a small deathmatch sof2 community out there too.
So apart from that m203 there is nothing that shows extreme skillness. However i thought it would look good and funny to watch anyway. I think making a deathmatch movie is like collecting footage on realdamage ctf servers. Same difficulty to get some spamming/sprays/sprees/whatever (remember o p e r a ?)
The demolition movie was about the skilled players. Everyone i fragged there was either clanned or playing demolition (almost) daily. That's the closest i will get to match/scrim footage requests.

I never said that Chicane wasn't a good player. All I said was that pub frags suck....because pubs suck. It doesn't matter what clan the people in the pub are in, it's still a pub, most people worth putting in a movie have played this game so long by now anyway that they just screw around in pubs. Plus you can tell that the people you killed were by far the bottom of the barrel when it comes to SOF2 skill.
There was one time where you were in a hallway, and a guy was throwing knives at you, and you crouchleaned (wtf he had knives) and took about a half a clip to kill him...how is that movie worthy? A lot of people were just standing still in that movie, or clearly had some horrible aim. How is killing 3 people with a shotgun who just respawned and have pistols impressive? It's not.
There wasn't one single time in that movie where I said "damn nice shot" or something like that, because I could probably make a 10 minute movie just as good as yours using the frags I get from one half hour deathmatch map. The only remotely good thing was that m203 which was pure luck anyway.
Like you said "there are a lot of ctf/inf movies and not a lot of dm movies," well, did you ever maybe think there is a reason behind that?
Don't take me wrong I don't mean any disrespect, I thought the movie in and of its self was good. The quality was great, the effects didn't really do anything for me, but they weren't horrible or way overused. In game sound I know takes a lot of time, and the music was good, but if I ever did actually vote on the movies I watch, I'de have to give this one zero for content. |

no advanced editing... no origional type editing...and not 1 good frag :x
i mean that content is the lowest of the low imo.... the noobiest players play deathmatch ... ive only played sof 1 year.. and in that whole time ive never heard or seen a single good player on deathmatch and in no way is that the same difficulty as gettin footage on a rd ctf server lol i mean ctf rd is very nooby in almost everyway but deathmatch on sof.. is by far the lobby way for 10 year olds and guys that cant count from 1 to 10 :/...
and for the editing .. lol nothing :/ nothin advanced or time consuming .. just all begginers stuff ..
hahaha and whats that shit about opera lol... the footage from opera is from 2 days of gaming.. of clan wars.. normall damage servers AND rd ctf servers :) .. the content in opera sucked imo lol i mean i got that shit from 2 days of playing and not playing before that for 6 months :) .. how shit is that lol... but its ok i didnt make the vid too show skill .. and i definetly didnt make it for the sof community,.. ( no offence u sof2 kids ) i made it for fans of wu yu sen :P so if ur not really a fan of his films then u wouldnt understand mine :)..
ohh i forgot 1 thing i think the only good thing in this movie was the quality :) it was looking v nice gj..

I am the first to agree that the majority on dm is low skilled, but defenately not everyone. Also deathmatch has its community of players who prefer this gametype the most. And are defenately not the noobest of noob or whatever people call it.

O and btw, i love the gametype, simply because it's chilling, relaxing and not frustrating (no campers, no tk-ers (dúhh :p) and not a frustrated attitude. Something that some won't even care about since they don't play on publics.

I watched the Deathmatch movie by Chicane and I was very impressed with the excellent quality of the video and the seamless way the clips have been put together meant the action just kept coming at you..................:)
Deathmatch is my favourite game-type in the Soldier of Fortune 2 game and I would say this movie is a true depiction of the game at its best moments................:)
Well done Chicane I know you have worked hard at this and your other movies which I enjoyed watching also....................... Keep up the good work............:)

Im not a very good critisism taker, sorry. I keep thinking i can please everyone with a movie, which no one can.
Sometimes i don't care what happens on a server (good moment to start playing ctf :p) but sometimes i do, and ctf on publics is mainly focussing on ratio, not on the flags, and then when you capture a flag that someone dropped halfway or less, you are a flagstealer, and you get tk-ed, and you are a . Add some cheat accusations to anyone with a good score, and a rain of frag and fire nades in stead of bullets, and that's in short why ctf is less relaxing then dm, where you have these problems not at all, or much less. Yeah i know, joining a clan would be a quite good solution for that, maybe i should think about it again...
First i take a break from editing, and i will write a small tutorial on editing. If i get some fresh ideas i might start working on another project.
