first.. comments coming..
ok.. REVIEW..
before i 'break it down' let me just say that this is clearly fei's best production yet, and really shows an advancement of skill and the use of many new techniques which havent been seen before in fei's videos. the mirror wasnt so great.. started at 400k/s and dropped like a rock to 50k/s but oh well, vids done.
PROS:
+ content. first thing i gotta say.. the content in this video is outstanding.
+ caming 2 really nice cams that stood out [both of otis] were done really well.
+ video is synced pretty cleanly, nothing is "offbeat"
+ you implimented some 3d work into the video which i think are its strongest points. the twilight logo, the dedication logo and the 3d models in the credits all came out really nice.
+ name text was pretty cool/original [with the motion]
NEUTRAL:
x Music = taste. the first song was good, but i feel that, as a theatrical song, it needs to have more extravagant imagery. when you hear the song, you think of big scale battles and stuff, not just clips synced. the 2nd song was decent, used ok. the third song was horrid. it sounded like it was compressed to 5k/s. not to mention that it was a nu metal track and imo, no different then a song youd find in 90% of the other q3 frag vids out there. i REALLY didnt enjoy the third song. the credits song was ok.
x Quality. quality wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either. while 22mb/1minute is a good size, there were some areas that were really unclear and had many artifacts. quality was above average for a q3 frag vid, but it wasnt as good as it could have been.
CONS:
- one thing that really bothered me that there was ingame sound in the third song but not in either of the first two. i find this strange, because its just so late in the video. not to mention, the ingame audio is MUCH louder then the music in that song.
- some of the clips had motion blur and some didnt, doesnt exactly disrupt the flow of the video, but it's "recognizable" in the video as something that feels like it shouldnt be there [dunno if im wording that right.]
- on the otis cam on dm6, it goes through the wall, which looks pretty bad
- i dont know if anybody would realize, but the clips of all the air rockets from sav that go from the end of song1 to the beginning of song2 are actually 1 demo in which he got all 3 of those shots in a row. i think it really wasnt a good idea to just split it up like that because it was one of the best demos i had ever seen and i dont think that people would get that from seeing it in the video as is.
- the overlayed text on the credits [not 3d part] looks really bad imo. i dunno, just looks strange/bright/out of place. plus with a regular clip under it displaying the name, it doesnt look "special" although the clip is in a "special" place.
overall, an enjoyable video, well worth the long download, showing a great deal of progression from fei. while there are some things in this video that would make me think 'old habits die hard,' theres also a lot of great new stuff in this video, enough to negate that. deffinently fei's best work yet, and doesnt dissapoint at all. gj, cant wait for next vid.

Well i just watched it. Great work fei... your best yet.
i really liked the music, gave it a good feel. The into was cery nice with all the 3d stuff happen. Frag are outstanding.. great frags. loved the credits (yay me ;)) with the models great work.

Ok, so here's my little review :P
Pro's:
+ Frags, they simply owned. Very high quality, and I especially like that you've chosen alot
of plasma, shaft and rail action. Gives a feel of diversity.
+ Maps, it's a cool thing when you pick from so many different mods and gamestyles, that you
can have so many different maps in the video. Also gives a feel of diversity, and helps keeping
your eyes gluéd to what really matters.
+ Camming, nice to see all those hours weren't wasted. You've really come up with some nice
angles, and some sweet motion. I particularly liked the one on oTis's flag capture, even though
there's a wee bit of the time where the cam is not really at the action ;) But the way he jumps
over the moving cam is pure iT style :D
+ Intro/Outro - very cool 3d stuff there. Highly luvable.
+ Synch, it's just impecable.
Con's:
- Slowmotion. I think you slow-mowed a little too much in the beginning of the movie, even for
an intro sequence, and the slow parts were kinda choppy (timescale SM?)
- Ingame sound. It's a little loud, don't ya think? Anyway, as pink said it's pretty weird only to
include it at the end.
Overall you've not only outdone yourself (sniff), but also alot of the rest of us. It's an awsome vid, with serious fragging, great editing and a powerful feel. Great job!
