OsloLAN
Description:
Norwegian e-Sports Community (NESC) has released a movie from the OsloLAN event that was held early October this year, where Michael "ahl" Korduner finished second along with NoA.
The initial thought was to make a frag movie with the best frags of the Counter-Strike tournament along with some live pictures. Due to the extensive network problems, many of the demos got lost. Still, the team did not want to give up the project. Now, they have pieced together a combined frag film and a summary of the event.
Devolution-Studios, represented by Mikkel "PheZzO" Gythfeldt, has edited the movie, which is close to eleven minutes long. This is part of a short interview with him, originally made in Norwegian by Morten "kzy" Storbråten from NESC.
Hi PheZzO, can you start by introducing yourself for those who don't know you?
I'm a 15-year-old boy and my name is Mikkel Gythfeldt. I have been tinkering with moviemaking for a little more than one year. In my spare time, I like playing football, golf, tennis and doing PC stuff.
How did you get to know about CS movies, and why did you start making them yourself?
I guess it was my old neighbour Iver (LiPToN) who showed me a couple of CS movies he had gotten hold of. Eventually, he taught me to make small clips and I got addicted. I started first and foremost because I thought it looked like fun. My first movie was made in Videomach, as I didn't know about any other video editing programs. After a while that got really boring, but then I got Pinnacle Studio 7 and really got things going.
How did you imagine the OL movie before you started on it?
I think I imagined it the way it has become, by following the CS competition in the best possible way and end it with a good ending.
Are you satisfied with the movie? Anything that makes it stand out from the many other CS movies out there?
Hm, yeah, I am satisfied, I particularly like the ending. I don't think it's a movie that stands out, but it doesn't always have to stand out to be good?
