Description:
Orto Sole: Done Short is my first video, it's a short introduction to my Guild for Guild Wars.
It features scenes from nearly all aspects of Guild Wars: Exploration Zones, Mission, PvP (at the tomb, not the arena) & GvG.
All footage was recorded during the 28-31 october World Preview Event.

This is a testproject for the final movie I'm making for the GWEurope contest - please comment!
This movie differs from other Guild Wars movie in that the quality is significantly higher & there's some syncing going on.

Enjoy & Comment Please :P

Some comments or votes would be nice.
I need to know what I should work on, my guildmembers aren't of any help as the only comments they seem to be able to give is: "more footage with me in it" -_-"

the pvm is totally useless, and if u want to make a real good movie, take entire fight vs korean teams or another team, not only some part of pvp etc

That would make it a recorded demo, not a movie.
That's been done dozens of times before. (yah I know, this wasn't too original either)

PvM is a large part of Guild Wars, it's not just PvP.
I included the PvM scenes to demonstrate that the guild doesn't just play GvG - it's also active in PvM & exploring the exploration zones.

you are wrong, pvm isnt guildwars, but of course, explorating area is part of the game like mission and pvm, but the goal is pvp, group vs group and a tactical pvp, not just some "recorded fight"..
That's why an entire fight is better to see the tactical aspect ;)

BiggY, i see your point - but I'm not wrong, you just have a different opinion than me.
I never said PvM was Guild Wars - all I said was that it's a big part of Guild Wars.

Nobody ever said that Guild Wars' goal is PvP - it may be your goal in Guild Wars, but that does not make it the goal of every Guild Wars player!
As a matter of fact, a very large portion of the Guild Wars players does not play PvP.
It's got a massive world to explore (larger than even retail MMO's like Legend of MIR when it first released) and plenty of missions to complete, PvP is definitely not all that Guild Wars has to offer.
Do you honestly believe Guild Wars is played in exactly the same fashion by every person around the globe?
In my guild alone (which was only 17 people large) there were Guild vs Guild addicts (okay, everyone liked that part), Tomb-addicts, Item/Skill-addicts, Mission-addicts & Exploration-addicts.

What you're suggesting is still just a recorded game (aka. demo) - nothing more than that.
Showing an entire fight would take 20 minutes or more and would be 400 MB's in size, most people don't have the attention span to watch a 20 minute movie, nor are they in the mood to go downloading a 400 MB movie (I've seen plenty of people whine about as little as 200 MB)
It's great to play the game and see the tactics unfold - but it's not fun to watch it in replay, unless you're a hardcore strategist.

My "movie" (more of a trailer in size and purpose :\) was intended to entertain, not to show off "1337 strategies".

Besides, what's the point of showing a highly tactical PvP match when you can't even see what kind of tactics are being used.
The only part of tactics you'll even be able to see is the converging on a single target (which is included in this movie as well), target calling (included as well), pointmen running forward (included as well) and with luck: flanking & blocking - of which both are included as well.
Look well - and you'll see them all, even in the relatively short scenes of this movie (which I think is your main complaint? and which is something I'll address in whatever I make next)
(I'm not saying this movie is great, as it is far from - but the stuff you're talking about are things I did intentionally)

The rest: changes of strategy through in-game or over-ventrilo chat, manouvres that involve multiple squads on different places & the creation of individual player-builds and teambuilds is impossible to see in a movie without a shoutcast added to it.
(which would actually be cool to do, and I'll look into it: for the retail version)

fei, I agree.
Luckily, there are a lot of people who've played it - so there's a big audience ;)
