I dont think this vid portrays what the skill is really like in the wcg competition. The combos themselves can be made easily by many players of 2k4. Saying these combos were made agianst the best players around the world doesnt quite show the skill in them either. The skill in those combos is setting them up right.
Having yourself positoned in the right way, shootong the core in the perfect location at the right moment and making the combo when the core travels the right amount of distance.....Its all about knowing where is the best place to be to launch the core, knowing when to fire the shock core and so on.....
I think most plp that see this vid are gogin to be like, Those are pros? i can pull that easy shit off.
So i found this video rather boring. Only watching the full demo can you understand whats behind the rather simple looking combos. |

That's your opinion of course. But you dont have to tell me how a shock combo works since im an experienced UT player ;) Anyway, the entire movie is slowed down bij 20 % so you can see whats going on. In real life the battles are a bit faster. I would have loved to make the battlesequences longer but that only makes it more boring. You especially have to notice the fact that most kills are made when the enemy comes around a corner. Thats the amazing skill of lauke, He knows exactly where the enemy is by just listening and guessing. And thats the whole point of pro-gaming. |

| lauke is obviously a good player as he won the comp, but these frags are mostly stand combo's, infact the only good combo was the ut1style one on deck. |

hmm cant see that is the skill.. because its so easy to know where the enemy is... the real skill is to know what to do when you know ur opponent is right there (insert random spot) and where to go etc so you can trick your enemy.

These shockcombo's are nothing special. Editing was nice. You should make a video with lauke in pub sometime. That will show what skilled player he is. Now it looks like UT2kx pro's aren't that good. Ot make a video out of an entire demo of wcg. That would have been a lot more interesting than this actually boring movie. :)

looking the vid with all those combos was a lot strange. video s nice, combo too.
BUT, the player s the winner of wcg 2004, 2^ @ wcg 2003, and the fr@gged are TOP player in the ut2k4 worl comunity. only this 4 me mean: these combos re the best.
imho the vid do not show really HOW MANY SKILL was in that arena, from lauke 2 his enemy, and in the situation they was. this s the most bigger error in this vid.
btw, 4 me, better this vid with fr@g @ the best PRO player then a vid with mid air kill @ n00b

indeed, this is the second version of my vid, because i thought it would be boring if I showed longer parts. Turns out people think differentl about that :( Should I do a highlights vid with longer parts next time? |

Sure if you can make a video with lauke or any other ultrahigh skills player be my guest.
As long as we can see the actual skills of these players. Like I said: entire wcg demo or pubbashing hehe. I used to spectate lauke back in UT2003 sometimes in pubs. No need for cool shots when a whicked sick is done in 1 minute (orso). :D
But this video was kinda boring like I said. (Jeweettoch..) ;)

I would defintely make a video with a wicked sick under 1 minute :) But I dont think I can get those demos anywhere. If he would give demo's, he propably gives it to someone who has a good reputation in videomaking.... not me... :( but if he does, i will do my very best. |

but the movie it self gets boring because its only combo's.
and yes i know how pro ut2k4 is played (im on danish national team and in dk's no1 clan ;)
but back to topic, fact is in this movie to make it good you had to make better editing, you could make widescreen and fuck hud (which there is no need to show at all in those situations), you could make some sync (sry if i didnt notice any, but then again it musnt have been very much since i didnt notice), and you could have spiced it up with a cool intro (showing maps that arent in the movie isnt something great :P)
a thing you made which was VERY good was the 3rd person cams so you didnt only look at a shok ball--shok beam--shok combo--dead enemy.

I don't like widescreen. I don't know why you prefer widescreen above fullscreen. I minimized the hud to very low, so you barley notice it. I also think my movie has the best size/quality/fullscreen-ratio of most ut2004 vids. It's only 50 mb and fullscreen with good quality. So next time i will definitely make a fullscreen vid as well. |

alcapucci: yeah ok if you dont like widescreen i understand, and yes it was good the hud was at 50% instead of 100% because then it would have been really bad :P
about the quality / size i dont think you have made something better than most other vids (maybe thats just me, and yes i know my movie was fucked... made and stupid error and had uncompressed audio = 30 mb sound ;)
