music: music didnt fit or the way how the movie was cut didnt fit with the music
quality: not very good ... just can't see much in the distance
green bright skins would have been nice

Damn.. can some1 upload this vid, to some other site than filefront ? I got probs with it lately... I chose a serv with 'no waiting time', and then when i click it, it said less than 1 minuta blabla.. then i can wait a hundred years, it doesnt work... Does someone else have this problem ?

This video reminds of battledragons movie "Ancalagon" maily because of its overdose on airrox and goo kills. The frags were nice but air rockets over and over get kind of boring. Also, a tip for moviemakers and ut2k4 videos, please never put frags on pub servers without utcomp and bright skins..its almost impossible to figure out whats going on.
The intro to this movie was original and i have never seen it done like that b4, but the ludicrous kill was too hard to see because of that purplish shine and the music was used already in No Escape 2.This movie seemed to me like all the demos were recorded at 30fps which is a big no no, especially if ur gonna slow the clips down. Thoughout the whole movie I had to rewind to see what happened. With movies like get quake 3 and the new x264 codec this kind of quality is just below avg.
The music was ........not very good : / imo but you cant please everyone with music so meh. Quality wise, it seemed like you compressed the audio too much or it was already compressed and you recompressed it.
Editing was better near the end, but almost nonexistant after the intro. Plus some of the frags were going by really fast with no pace to keep the viewer interested.
Overall I give this movie a 6, Quality could be better and choopy framerate hinder this one.
Not a keeper for me, but good first movie.

the 'no waiting time' is obviously a bug when all the other servers have 30 mins waiting time :P

didnt think the music fitted well, and i only liked evanescence in it (also didnt fit)
had problems playing this, winamp used to much memory, vlu didnt play it, and with WMP the bar went quicker than the actual clips were and when it filled the bar the frags continued but the music stopped
nice movie tho |

I completely agree. There was some sound issues where the loudness actually dropped and then went back up, I dunno if this was intentional but if it was I would suggest against it next time.
As far as I remember this isn't tropic's first UT movie, he is also the maker of 04LADY which is much better imo in the editing department. Otherwise the frags were good, got kinda repetitive and you didn't use dumpframes so you didn't resize the screenies which worked against the quality.
Didn't enjoy it either except for the intro.

btw tropic, another time, try to get some better mirrors, if it werent for it had your name on this video i wouldnt have waited so long for it... since i managed to have the file ready for more than 5 mins so i got to the back of the queue again :(
anyway, 5½ i give this movie... when i saw screenshots i got happy and thought "YES finally a movie without hud", just to find out you had the doublekill / kill msg written on manually which sucked big time... btw, the low fps was killing me, you could have added some motionblur in the slowmotion parts so it would feel less choppy...

I liked your intro and your model very much. Frags were good too but overall i had the feeling the vid wasn't completly finished because of the very simple editing of the main part, it had some sync and all that but i actually had the feeling something was missing like a mood or something.. to be honest i think you should have kept the speedy atmosphere of the introduction which was really powerfull and communicative imo.

I couldn't stand the near-constantly low framerates & lower than average video quality in this one. Nice music/frags, though.
As for the editing, I think the bit w/ Incubus would have made for a waaaay better intro, rather than sticking that right in the middle. Also, all the messages added back in that weren't there when recorded were really obvious and out-of-place, which also annoyed the hell out of me.
Decent overall, but 04lady > it.

I agree with Virax that 04Lady was better than this new one.
My biggest issue, more than the lowish framerates and the lack of brightskins in some places, was the complete lack of a HUD. I didn't like it not being there at all. It was a pain to see who you killed and it's disorienting to watch without a crosshair. I like seeing "You killed" (or whatever people have their .int files edited to say) front and center so I don't have to take my eyes off the action to figure out who was fragged. I also like seeing people's reactions to getting fragged like this, and without a HUD, we'll never know what those people said. As far as the music goes, I was pretty disappointed. In Flames is a great band, but Evanescence? That song was played out after three days of being on the radio, and it's not even good. Any song by any band would have done better than that. :/
I think this one gets a 7/10 for me. Keepable, but could have been better.

I liked it, verymuchso. But I guess im biased because In Flames is like my favorite band, but besides that this is one of my favorite UT2K4 movies :D
