Description:
ShoutMind is the trailer for Behind inMind, the full movie which will be released next year.

It features some of the players in the UT2003/UT2004 instagib clan inMind (#inMind @ QuakeNet).
This movie is pure instagib, I'm aware many people will back off now already :))
but the full movie will contain some amount of nw as well, perhaps some other games and some irl footages, we will see.

However, this is my first real movie, so don't expect any extreme editing - I'm still learning such stuff.
Expect a clean and good looking video with some nice syncing and pretty neat frags.

Clicking the download link will lead you to another page where you can chose your preferred size/quality of the movie (169 mb/333 mb/512 mb) and also download some other short vids that I made, if you'd like.

I watched it a few hours ago.

I have a good connection here and downloaded the ~500mb version. To be honest, what the 500mb version looked like could have easily been done in ~120-130mb with proper compression techniques.

Beyond the compression, the quality in general was a little stuttery and seemed to lack a certain smoothness. My guess is you used mostly server-side demos that were recorded at a default 30tick. For some reason even a 40 tick demo becomes a world smoother when the frames are dumped. Also, try to dumpframes in a higher resolution than your final product and then resize them. A lot of the video seemed very edgy and could have looked a lot better with some antialiasing or a resize from larger resolution. The colors also appeared a little strange, but the maps the movie featured were probably the cause.

Content was instagib and it is hard to make it presentable. I know you were looking into Rypelcam and even talked to me once or twice. I was kind of disappointed at the lack of its use. :(

I think your final product will be a lot better, and this looks to be a solid start for a well-done and deserving movie. Hopefully you treated this like a warmup for the real deal. I'll look forward to it and some normal weapons action. Almost all movies are DM/TDM and some CTF action, even if it is instagib, is still something fresh and new.

Not a bad job, but the larger sizes are pretty steep for a 5 minute preview movie. Keep going and I'll look forward to the final movie.

I agree with epi's points about quality and stuff. I'd say turn off dead messages or at least decrease the number of lines shown if you keep capturing at that resolution. The sound effects are kinda rough too. Sometimes you speed up to the point where you cant follow what's happening at all.
It was fun to see the GNA footage on Orbital (no clue what match it was from but it brought a smile to my face). Hope to see more old footage in the final movie!

I'm waiting for a good insta movie so I hope you'll succeed :D
