anybdy did watch it yet ?
anybody can t tell if it worth the dl ?
Cause for 31.8Mo on filefront @12.1k/s for all rail :( (yea sry i m really not a big fan of rail only and i know it s not ur fault if filefront sux:>)
edit: like some others said, forget about fraps its an easy way but with crap quality, try encode with xvid or even x264, then you have some to change in your cfg like the HUD etc and, the most important to me, just show frags and no misses :>

i have plans soon for a new movie. and i know its going to much better than this :). i have alot more movie making software and information these days. as this is an old movie i made some time ago.
so my next movie should be a good few hundred meg and filled with high quality action :) |

Hum ok dl'ing.. because you seem to be a cool guy :p Comments later.
Watched it, there is room for some improvement :) Let's say the cfg was *ok* exepted that you need to get rid of the hud, the following msg, the score boxes etc i'd advise you to only keep the crosshair and the frags messages for your next movie. Also try to have a little variety of different maps because q3dm17 is kinda overused for insta movies =) I guess that's all, the rest was good for a very first try eventho i didn't like the music that much i can't tell it's bad cause it's a matter of taste so keep it up and read the forums if you need help on something particular :o

Not bad for a first try. And indeed there is room for improvement. :)
First, you need to set up a movie HUD. Try /cg_drawstatus 0, cg_drawfps 0, cg_drawtimer 0, and cl_noprint 1. That will make it so that you can just see the frag message and the score at the bottom right of the screen.
Second, you shouldn't show all the misses and stuff in your vid. Frag videos are supposed to show skilled frags and all the misses would kinda ruin it.
Third, I dont know if you already knew this, but you need to try getting the footage at the highest possible resolution. For example, I made a movie and I took the .tga images at 2048x1536. With extremely high resolutions, you can then render your full movie at 640x480 or w/e and then compress it
with alot better quality, since the higher the resolution, the more detail etc. there is. And compressing it would still look good.
Fourth, wmv 9 is not the codec you should try using for quake movies. You can try x264 or Xvid.
And try making your movies 20-25mb per minute, dont make it like 10mb per minute because there is a huge loss of quality. But at the same time dont make them more then 25 because NO ONE on own-age.com likes movies that are rediculously large. :)
EDIT: Yeah, looking at the tutorials and watching other quake movies would help you understand editing etc. I posted my first movie here without even watching and seeing any threads and movies
on this site. But I've learned ALOT of things.

don't forget about the timescale command. By slowing down the footage in your editing program, you make it look laggy, just record it with lower timescale, for example .25 (or use cl_avidemo 120 instead of 30)

Hi there.
I am John, playing insta myself, making insta movies myself > http://auri.dl.am/
I was happy to see some other dude making an insta movie, though I was a bit disappointed, but well it was a first try.
I did not like the music at all, not my taste.
I think the content was .. a random demo that you have found on your harddrive, and it is a movie about 1 demo only, hehe.
The quality was not that good, but I have seen much worse things, I gave some points for that.
But for creativity and content I cannot give many points you know. There was no creativity in it :P
I am still happy that somebody else does movies, I hope to enjoy your upcoming one, make it a more variety of maps, not so many misses, not so much useless slow motion and, well, keep the music you like ;)

I noticed something:
How come you have the enemy model tankjrs? They are not allowed in insta mainly.
And how come you have the osp rail?
Did you replay the demos in OSP?
