I heard a lot of complaints from people saying it somehow messed up their UT and they had to reinstall. So I wont be getting it but it does sound kinda cool :P.

1) This X-Fi patch screwed over a lot of people's UT. I know many people who had to reinstall because of it. Low frames, etc.
2) Stupid patch that only ruins the game. The default Unreal sounds are fine.
3) Whoever was playing should stick to whatever game he normally plays. |

hehe Sorry if the frags looked kind of lame - it was mostly recorded in realtime to capture the sound effects :)
RE: darksonic, As I said its NOT a frag movie, so I didn't focus on that. I intentionally died in some bits, and intentionaly did things like look away from where I shot to try and show the panning and other audio effects.
I made a conscious effort not to make the video pretty, to try and put more bits into the audio stream (its 224kbit)
As for the patch itself... It didn't mess mine up, its fine :) I feel that the gun sounds are light years above, and this did not capture the whole effect - the lightning gun for example has a spine tingling chill to when you fire it, which is lost in compression.
If anyone has a non working version of UT2k4, make sure you set your audio settings like I did (as the readme states), And that you have got the recent Xfi update that came out. I would imagine this patch would not work without a X-fi card too.
also, you can revert to a non Xfi version too after the patch. You can turn the new music off, and the new gun sounds off. I think the actual xfi processing stays on though, I'm not sure.
