Well, here's my comment.
The movie pack came with some other crazy stuff that I didn't know what to do with so I dled it, those exe files...kinda confusing could have just made it a wmv or with divx codec.
The quality was good but 201 MB's for that kinda quality is over the top. :o could have been 100MB or even less no problems :/
The intro 9/10. I like your No Limits effects, it was pretty good there :o The 1/10 is for the brightness I guess which I'll talk more of later :p
The middle bits and the effects were well -.-' Overdone...especially the flashing black bits where you flash the screen. That was done too many times and i couldn't actually see the shots unless I really concentrated and that killed my eyes along with the flashing. so... 5/10 for the effects overall.
The shots were 10/10 I reckon, pretty l337 =D
The syncing was good, but I only noticed it when it came to the second part of the movie with the other type of effect which was like a zooming in thing that blured then sharpened :o 8/10
I'm not sure if you like it better with all the health bars, teamoverlays and stuff so I can't realy say but the teamoverlay could have been removed unless you wanted us to know what the teams were and that it was authentic so -.-' I dunno
The credits...well -.-' there wasn't really one so ;p
ya but overall we have another jk3 vid and that's koolbananas!

Good to see a JKA video! Nice Job Plat :) There was some pretty good content but I didn't like all the effects.
However the syncing was top notch in the segment after the intro and that's what I love to see. I'm really happy this game is still kicking and that there are players like you still making videos. So thank YOU :) |

Its definitely nice to see that JA videos are still coming out. As one of the first videos created using Pugmod, it was nice to see that No Limits made good use of the smoothcam, the rocket cam, and the free spec cam. The frags were all nice, and I liked the inclusion of more complex clips that show skill beyond single frags (i.e. the one at 2:50 where Plat kills the enemy flag carrier, dies, spawns pretty far away, and manages to return his flag, pick up the enemy flag, and score).

Thats the x264 codec, which results in much better quality than divx or wmv (and isn't proprietary like wmv). I was happy to see that No Limits took advantage of x264. The resulting quality was nearly perfect.
As for negative critique, I found the heads up display and crosshair to be distracting. Excluding these would result in a much cleaner look.
Overall, a great addition to the own-age.com collection of JA videos.

I agree you could have made it some other codec... i've seen high quality compression in the past in other vids... but really I have no problem DL'ing 200 MB. If it was 500 MB or 1 GB, I'd have a problem, but whatever.
ok as for my comments now... don't take them too harshly, you're an offense player, and you don't play in pugs all that often (that I know of), but I expect more good shots in vids in addition to visuals and editing.
+nice effects, not gonna list them all, but the rain cap on kejim and that one whatever it was cap on dosuun later on +a few nice shots: 1:35, 3:19
-gay sniper model -most of the shots were pretty commonplace and on pretty standard newbs -the black frames placed throughout scenes were annoying to my eyes suz -the hud etc. didn't add anything -repeating random floorshots over and over again, should have repeated one of the better shots in the vid for syncing purposes (like ~4:15)
overall...hmm, 6.5-7/10 |

A few comments:
You seem to throw effects in just anywhere to boost the 'editing mark' but sometimes this just distracts from the actual shot (coloured pencil look?) However I liked the thing you did with a couple of shots where the projectile look slike its glowing or whatever. Hud/crosshair off would be much nicer, especially when you are using starglow, it looks as if all that its affecting is the different hud parts :/. You also might want to change it off the default colours because to people who are familiar with the plugin will see that as a lack of effort. Very nice use of pugmod but you have to be careful of it not drawing people who are in your field of view (which leads to people disappearing/appearing) Rain looked nice but not a very good run imo Song transition after that one (the rain run on kej) was also a bit off You trying to give me epilepsy?
I'm just picking out tiny things, overall its one of the better jka vids. |

Great quality - team overlays etc are important to me - I like to see that stuff. The shots are also way more impressive than your previous vid.

+ The movie had no Iron Maiden/Nightwish songs, it's good because every filmmaker feels obliged to put at least one in + Presence of special effects and interesting cameras, although they didn't impress me too much + 3 or 4 nice frags
- Still, the music was terrible - Too many average/boring/"2ez" shots - The effects were quite ugly - HUD?! - Few shots didn't actually kill the victim, they only hurt him, come on. - Pulling peeps and being pulled isn't interesting enough - Don't you think we would see more if you used the FPP view? - No ingame sound - Why ON EARTH did you show us your teamkill, no matter how "elite" it would seem to be?
I give it 4 points outta 10. |
