i liked this video, i watched it with both soundtracks. the second one gave me better party feeling and fited as well to the video as the 1rst relaxing one. the tricks were cool, some better some not. the cams were good and present the tricks nicely. audio-video syc. is amazing like in iT2, and video speed changings/accelerating makes it really enjoyable. quality was very nice (even if its 29mb/min) ;) only things i didnt liked in the video was the abused using of the blur+glow transition, and the font which was to near the border, and probably the ugly blue of the title too ^^ but this are not really discuttable points ;)
nice vid worth the download

I loved freeform so was looking forward to another relaxed, chilled trick video away from the d'n'b.. and i wasnt disappointed. Not being a great fan of vocal trance (i like, but not that much) i had to watch it twice in a row to hear both tracks, and even tho track one seemed to fit better with the theme, track 2 seemed to go along with it better i thought. What got me was the synching in both tracks, they were both perfect.. and hard to tell which one you made the video to innitially. My only nit-pick with the audio is track 2 just suddenly cutting out at the end the last kinda blooper trick having no sound (well not for me anyway).
I noticed the quality has improved from freeform, be it a better cfg and post editing tweaks or the 29mb per min.. either way it looked great. I also noticed you opted not to go for widescreen.. which im happy you did. My only fault was freeform was the widescreen made me feel my view was restricted, i never had that feeling with this. I agree with Bunny-Burning that the map names were too close to the edge, almost cutting off, but i wasnt too bothered about the glow transitions.. i think they fit perfect with the chilled theme.
Content wise again im with BB, some were sweet, some were not so sweet. I've been keeping up with the more fs thread on OPC (even tho i dont post on it) so maybe i've seen the tricks before and not realised it, not sure.. but never the less you still cant doubt the skill involved, so even tho some of the more 'pro' jumpers out there may not be thrilled by the jumps, the more intermediate ones should like them.
Now being on a par with freeform, that's where it drops in creativity.. cos we've seen it before, and it's all your fault :P But then, you go and perfectly sync 2 tracks at once and that brings it back up again.. but not all the way, cos again.. sp did it before, once again your own fault :P You basicly stuck with the same editing method that made freeform a hit, and that's competely understandable. Those that liked freeform will like this, i certainly did. But those that didnt obviously wont, so the creativity wasnt geared towards trying to attract both.
It is a nice movie, certainly a welcome break from repetative break beat jump movies and nice to just sit and relax to without having to try and keep up with the fast paced tricks and 140bpm music. Maybe slightly too similar to freeform, but the time between the release of the 2 movies and the addition of an extra track should help this along the way. I'd say another thumbs up for SP and mrks.

you can find a video to be ok, but not worth it to pin it down to your harddisk for all eternity :)
- downloading, critical hits.. I mean review later -
(Also posted @ OPC Forums )
very well, here goes.
+ Quality, good. Just good, nothing more to add, only you *did* use 29 mb/min. Taking that into considerating I might say you rather cheated on the 20 ( up to eventually 25 mb/min ) rule. And 29 is just way much, explainable where the quality comes from ( along with sharpen / collor corrections ). Kind of lucky it got accepted by filefront then :)
+ Detinu's trick, it was expected to be in it. Didn't exactly fit with the other tricks, but I was happy enough seeing a different trick so I have to count it as a positive. Same goes for Nihilanths, just another of Nihs ''standard'' kind of tricks. Jsut didn't blend in, but was happy enough to see a change from the countless zwobs :)
+ Music, fits with the idea and the feeling you were wishing to create. Succeeded there
+/- The overall feeling, It was not bad... but long not as good as Freeform ( I am comparing it to Freeform since it has the same concept ). In combination with the overal ladded tricks and effects it mwa.. just didn't hit it.
+/- The editing, nothing new, nothing fancy or special. some quite ''old'' ( as in, getting old / overused before ) effects which I didn't expect you to use. I did like the effect at the RA3MAP1 @ 5:10 and the camera syncing to Detinu's trick however, just a shame they were the only things I really ''felt'' with.
- The new Shaolinproductions Logo/Intro, didn't like it. Old ones were much better ;)
-- fonts, well.. lucky they weren't really ''onscreen'' ( literally speaking they almost went outside ). They didn't disturb but when you looked at them closely.. yikes. They were shaggy and ugly red. The intro font and colour didn't do it either. Plainly bad I have to say.
- Much third person, didn't like it that much to be honest. More of a personal taste, but I liked the use of 1st person in freeform alot since it just felt right with the overall feeling of the movie. But here, it just misses the spot
Overall I would give it a 6.5 / 10. Considering I use this system : 10 - Perfect, REALLY over enjoyable, 9 - Very very good. 8- Great / Good 7- Okay / Good 6 - Average, but enjoyable. 5 and below = crap. So, yes. It was average, but enjoyable.
I hope you can respect that opinion and can use the critism. Please, don't be like Gaz :-)
( The 2x invert at jb17 @ 6:10, had the same idea a time ago ;) )

I'm not into q3 tricking but wow, i loved this one. :o
Intro was very "professionnal" with some nice psychedelic blue effects and a very simple font, liked it. The flow of the soundtrack you used was very catching up, to be honnest i felt transported into it. :D Quality was amazing to me (29 mb/mn, yeah but still), config was perfect (ups, almost : skybox edges on q3wcp23 ;>), nice job with this. I'm not into q3 tricking so i can't really give an objective opinion about tricks into your movie but i guess they were good (liked the Razor stuff on csu1_a with the 4 rockets). That's about it ; last thing, the blur effect was a little overused imho like others people said but... erf, that's all.
Two thumbs up @soundtrack & the overall atmosphere, that was awesome. 8.5/10 + favorite. <3

i knew there will be some quite different opinions on this one. Glad i was right heh. I can indeed understand that it may not be a movie for everyone, but i however have to argue about the comparision to freeform.
Freeform wasn't designed with a special concept like i had for this one. It may have been similiar but it wasn't intended to be that chilly :) I personally wouldn't compare the two cos they have nothing in common except a good beat.
I gotta agree with the content though. But that's my style of tricking if you know what i mean. It's no fancy eyecatching multi rocket trick, which i know fits best into hardcore gaming video. However this isn't designed to be hardcore, but quite the opposite. Thus, and i'm not trying to defend my tricking here, because of the concept the tricks do fit well. I'm more the technical tricker, cheater if you want.
It's totaly alright if you don't like it. cos i was expecting that, just because it's different from the masses.
Btw, you can hopefully expect quite the opposite movie somewhen in summer. Hyper Hyper !

The style was allright mrks, just the constant zwob catched me boring after a while. ( did for instance like the csu_1a with the nade -->pad --> rocket =) )

I enjoy watching tranquil avis and really enjoy that more emotional attachment that you can gain from it, however this just didnt capture me in the way it was intended, infact freeform did a better job regardless of its intentions. I believe that you could have done something more with the editing if you really did want to give it that "higher plane" feeling, as is its just quake to me nothing ethereal or Godly to it.
Enjoyable watch regardless but not really living up to the reputation that ShaolinProductions has attained. |

Yet another great job from Shaolin Productions :> i can't say anything other then: i simply love this vid, Especially since it really has a different feel to it as you described in the interview with oTis, lol who'd of thought q3 tricking vid to relax to? lol i sure didn't since i'm planning on making an anime themed q3 frag vid, but that's off topic :>
Again, good job mrks, looks like all ur (released) vids have been a succes so far, keep it up =D

Why is it hosted in filefront as its 30MB/min? cause its shaolin productions?
I think it was boring despite the good visual aspect. Quake is all rock hard fragging, not some floating around with peaceful music in the background ffs :> I want my gunz smoking as they try to cool down from all the owning i just did...!!!one

very nice work! i loved the slow-motion moves in this vid! as a non-tricker, this is a great thing to see the tricks and also be aware of what is happening actually ;) also the sound and the color-editing was great. and for the recams: these were some of the greatest recams i've ever seen in a q3 vid. last but not least - also the content was cool. i've seen better stuff in other movies (shaolin, too ;)), but the move around 5:30 combined with the great recam was a highlight for me in this vid.
in overall a very solid work, big respect for that! i'm always kinda nervous when i'm downloading a vod from shaoling prductions. after seeing this vid, this will not change. mooooooore!!! :D
